I just got back from the tournament. I ended up judging, which was fine with me. Ryan (bigguns) won !5+, so congrats to him. Rulemaster got 3rd and Menoknow did well also. A fun weekend of Deoxys has come to an end. Thanks everyone!
Ya, me and rulemaster both lost first round then won the next 4. After 5 rounds there was one player at 5-0 and 5 and 4-1 including me, rulemaster, and banginbox. Me and rulemaster had to play in the last round--looking at resistances and that after round 5, I told him whoever won between us would probably take 3rd. He started with a slakoth (40hp and weak to fighting) and deoxys ex (one that does 50 with option to discard 2 energy and do 20 extra for each energy attached to defending) and I started with Lunatone (1 C look at top 5 of either players deck and arrange them however you want. He goes first, puts me to sleep with slakoth, I wake up, use Lunatone's first attack and look at his deck like I did yesterday in Brookfield my first turn. Had 3 energy, a Solrock, and Cosmo's I believe it was--that's the order i put them. His turn, sleep again, I wake up, attach energy does 20, weak, so 40 and KO. He gets second energy on Deoxys ex. Lots of switching and such on my part after this. I didn't get and of my pyschic guys out to maul his deoxys ex with (had 2 beldum, a 2-1 duskull--which i got out but way too late, a 1-1 grumpig). I had Goldeen on my bench but couldn't pull my seaking (30+20 more if defending already has damage). Only managed to do 80 to deoxys ex before he got another basic and I just couldn't get anything set up after that. We had fun with the match since we knew either way one of us from Whitewater would take third. I was pretty relaxed in all my matches and had a lot of fun. Winning the prerelease in Brookfield the day before got winning my first premiere event out of the way.
All in all a fun day, finished 4-2 so tied for 4th, didn't check where I was after resistance--wasn't 4th.
I just wish I would've won the PIRN CD door prize--I could be listening to that right now!

Well I think it went well overall. Glad to see so many of you out-of-towners show up! Even Ness was there and stayed for the side event afterwards. (Kevin the Mgr at TIY put in a bunch of nice prizes for the side event that I didn't know he was gonna do!) We had 43 players for the main event: 24 for 15+, 14 for 11-14, and 5 for 10-, so I think that's a pretty good turnout. :smile:

Here is my Deoxys Prerelease report. Well the day started off pretty well, I had my friend Blake over and we played a lot of Super Smash Brothers Melee. He pretty much whipped me each round. I ate some coffeecake and was extremely bored so I asked me mom to leave there early. So anyway we started off and when we got there at 10:25 we found out they wont let us in even though we are supposed to help set up. So after being extremely confused for about 20 minutes they let us in and I just took a seat. After a while Mr. Lucas wanted to battle me but I had left my deck uncased for the prerelease. So I asked Devin to use his and he agreed.
Fun match-Mr. Lucas- Dark Draggy, Dark electrode
Well I was playing Devins Dark Crobat, Togetic, and Furret deck. I started off with a Dunsparce and got set up pretty quickly due to Furret. I finally attacked with Furret and knocked out his first Dark Dragonite. He sent out the other and knocked me. I started attacking with my first Dark Crobat but the Resistance killed me. So after not pulling any energy for Togetic I lost a good match.
Fun match #2-Mr. Lucas-Dark Draggy Dark Electrode
This time I decided to case my deck that I had played at the tourney the other day and got second with. I was playing Swampert, Azumarill, and Pidgeot. I got out Pidgeot really quick but he rocked me to get my candied Pidgeot out of there. Well after that I felt pathetic. All I could to was try and top deck something good and I never did and he just whooped me.
Well feeling kind of pathetic losing so badly I couldn’t wait to open some prerelease packs. I ate some Subway and things got underway. I got my packs blessed by chansey but it didn’t seem to help. I pulled no holo rares, 1 trainer(lady outing), and no special energies. I did pull normal deoxys and Deoxys defense form. I was extremely angry at me horrible luck. My deck consisted of pure basics except for a Donphan which I never got out in the entire tournament. So I had some horrible thought of going 0-6 and getting last place. I found out that my friend Chase pulled a Shiny Rayquaza with a macargo so I figured he would do really good and I would be dead last in the division. So anyway back to the tournament.
Round 1 Jessica L. Koffing(couldn’t find out what else) 1-0
I started with defense Deoxys and she had koffing. I attached to Deoxys and passed. She poised me and then I attached to deoxys defense and thought about switching it with the normal one but I couldn’t remember what the normal did so I decided to just hit it with forty because of weakness. She STILL got no basic and I killed her. We played for fun after that and She one by one prize.
Now there was a lunch break which I didn’t care about because I already ate but I found out Team TIY had done very well first round. Possibly Team TIY wont be so horrible after all. After a half hour lunch break we got under way again.

I got all my great basics and they took out her 2 tropiuses. Pretty boring match really.

This was a good match and I had to pull out all the stops in order to beat her. She was a very talented player for only being 11 years old. I don’t remember her name but she will be good some day.
Round 4 Natalie Bennett Deoxys ex, random psychic basics 4-0
Well I knew this would come, a match against my little sister. I highly doubted I could beat her but she could only get a spoink and I get attacker Deoxys which I switched for defensive. Lucky she didn’t get out a Deoxys ex.

Round 5 Kaleb Delrio Grumpig Ludicolo 4-1
I thought I might have a chance at beating him but he kept putting me to sleep for 8 turns in a row and I couldn’t wake up. I kept using different dice and none of them worked. I lost by 1 prize anyway. Sorry Kaleb but if it wasn’t for dice rolling I would’ve clinched first in our age division
Round 6 James Flint 2 Macargo and other great pokemon
He has a great pull and great starting hand. I had my defense Deoxys in my prizes. I got my butt kicked.
Well I ended up getting 4th and Natalie got 2nd in 10-

I think that you played Chelesy(I don't know if I spelled it correctly) 3rd round. I did really bad though.

Once again I got lucky because I killed his 2 pokemon but he ran out of base. 2-0
3rd round: Dustin N. (local)
This round was horrible because the 1 natu I had was in my prizes and there was 2 Xatu in my hand. That was so not cool. So I lost. 2-1
4th round: Can't remember
Once again I couldn't draw anything other than energys. So he brought out his Breloom and killed my bench. 2-2
5th round
avid H (local)
He managed to pull all 3 of the deoxys. lucky him. Once he got out one he killed me. 2-3
6th round:Alex (Big Chuck)
This match I enjoyed even if I was losing. I kept using lunatone's first attack to look at the first 5 cars of his deck. He had a Natu on his bench and a Xatu in his deck which i can across. So for about 3 turns I kept putting it as the 5th card for him to draw. Well once he got my lunatone he got his Xatu and I was done. 2-4
That was kind of fun for my first Prerelease. (Even if I did do horrible.)

Sorry about not getting you guys in earlier Kevin :redface: Didn't mean to make you wait... was a bit hectic in there. And bummer about the packs ya got. Sometimes Prereleases can be so cruel with packs! But at least you came in 4th despite it!
And you were right Ashley, he did play Chelsey round 3. Glad you enjoyed your first prerelease :smile:
All in all I'd have to say Team TIY did pretty good! 1st and 4th for 15+, swept 11-14 with 1st through 4th, and 2nd, 3rd & 4th in 10-. Mama's proud of you guys! :clap:

Sorry I couldn't make it. With no cash left and only 2 hours of sleep Saturday night, things didn't seem to look in favor of me going. I had a great weekend though, even if I did bomb in my Pokemon hometown. :tongue:
