I agree.

HG/SS has been out for about month now. Its not fair to the rest of us that we have to wait. Its not our problem if others dont have it yet.



In attempt to find a fair solution, how about this;

People who DO have HG/SS, CAN use the Flat Line thing.
 
It makes sense to keep the rules continuous through States and Regionals. These are tough tournaments to run, and the DS side event can't be the top priority. Keeping the rules the same from huge tournament to huge tournament makes sense on an organizer level. It's easy enough to explain how new things work to a 10-12 person tournament, but trying to add a new mechanic to what we are hoping is a 100+ player, full Swiss Side Event would be hard on the very few staff dedicated to said side event.

Normally I wouldnt have a problem with this, however, I traded my VGC team over to my SS game to help me beat the E4.

....Those pokemon are no longer Lv 50.
So now Im scrambling around trying to get a new team together. Sigh....
 
lol the only difference from states would be you have to have HG/SS and use flat battle instead of plain double battle

and you can use mewtwo/ttar/non-TRU dragonite


but its fine if they want to keep it, i was just wondering

I made that sane mistake. luckily my Platinum game still has several lv.50's on it so I'll just have to use a different team. Plus i'm letting a couple friends borrow the rest of my lv.50's to help us break 100 people in the DS tournament.

Can't wait for Saturday! I'm too excited. :biggrin:

Nor is it fair to our little guys & gals who don't have the way or means to have gotten it yet.
This is nothing new. We always announce new games/rules at the upcoming Prerelease.

Besides, are you telling me these people that so readily and steadily got the HG/SS game, beat the elite 4, and traded over
their pokemon all in a few weeks can't put together 4 viable pokemon at level 50 in a couple weeks? The thread has been
up for a while! The bottom line is it's Less fair to the people who don't have the game, than it is to the people that have the
game, and now need the other pokemon to use.

Too many people here to quote who I agree with, and more still whom I don't regarding the DS tourney.

When you limit the DS tourney to HG/SS, you limit the entrants. When you start carving out rules specifically for HG/SS users, you create a different tournament standard.

Thank you DarkStar and Momma June for your sane comments, keep the rules as is, and perhaps we'll break the 100 player mark.

Looking forward to the competition...
 
for those complaining about the ds tourny. just play in the regional vgc in seattle where its limited to just hg/ss. lol
 
Well, I have my new team now so I guess I have no reason to complain anymore.

But from a neutral standpoint, let me say this;

WHile yes, lets be fair to others who dont have HG/SS yet and keep the rules the same. Cause your right, not everyone has teh new game yet. However, how long are we going to wait? Not every person will get the new game any time soon. So are we really going to wait until every person has it?


Anyways, moving on.

What was the head count at states?
I hope we beat that.
