3 days of events was fun. I'm all Pokemoned-out now. Definitely a different experience than 2 events in one weekend. The metagame up in NJ is also really different.
Hotel was great. There was an arcade with a DDR machine. PokePop, you should have mentioned that too!
Props:
*Event staff taking a bigger-than-expected number of people and seating everyone.
*Event staff keeping their cool and staying friendly while getting the events started.
*Great hotel recommendation, especially due to the arcade w/DDR
*Minimal traffic enabling us to get to the Tues, Weds, and Thurs events on time despite leaving VA and our hotel late for all three
*Lots of hilarious quotes and situations, some after the fact. One guy saying,
"I used to be good. Now I play decks like Tyranitar with 1 Uxie."
*The Weds event being in a mall.
*Meeting a lot of new people.
*Teaching a new kid how to play at the Thurs event--it was just like league!
*Wawa at the Tues event; Sesame Chicken at Flaming Wok at the Weds event.
*Hearing that Bergerac liked my deck
Slops:
*Getting lost from the Tues event to the hotel. GPS for the loss.
*Snow in the parking lots of the Tues and Thurs events.
*Extremely dirty tables at the Tues event. I've never thought I needed a playmat before then.
*NJ people (their license plates were NJ), not necessarily players, double-parking at the Thurs event :nonono:.
*Jughandles
*The Broccoli Chicken at the Flaming Wok at the Weds event.
*Bowling alley food service at the Thurs event. So disorganized. :nonono:
