Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Speaking in front of the class

I take Japanese, so I'm not sure how much I can help you here, but when someone is nervous about speeking in fornt of a class it seem that it's usualy because their afraid of what every one will think of them. You need to get up there with an atitude that says "I don't care what you think", and just read your spanish to some hole in the wall at the back of the classroom. (and practicing what your gonna say wouldn't hurt either)

I think that the thing I learned about public speaking is that the people watching you are not nervous about your presentation why should you be? If you have something to say, say it. Try and realize that it may be another boring presentation to you, but there might be that one person who is really connected to what you are informing them about. Remember your not the only one who is nervous about presentations, even that one "cool" kid is.

Alright. It wasn't too bad. I remembered what I was planning on saying and I just kind of recited it. Even better, I had time to remember my next line because we were supposed to making most of it up as we went. So I was like uuuuhhhhhhhh...Yo comi muchas comidas diferentes. Pretending like I just thought of it. The only problem was I forgot to picture everyone naked. Right before I went up I thought alright, they're all naked. And I practiced picturing them naked. But I got up there and forgot to do it.

Thanks for the advice.

I took a Communications class for Public Speaking, so I know what it's like....

Okay, but for the future....

If you have to do a presentation......

1. Practice enough to feel comfortable, but you don't have to have it all memorized.

2. Scan your audience before speaking....

3. Don't try to look at one person too much or too little.

4. If you can, talk about something you're comfortable talking about and what you're interested in sharing.

5. Smiling helps a lot.

6. Give yourself a prep talk before going in.

7. Know that you're not the only one nervous when presenting something.

8. Posture is very good because it makes you look more confident and you can breathe more easily if you stand up straight.

9. Wiggle your toes.

10. If something goes wrong, carry on like nothing happened.

11. Get enough sleep and eat well before your speech--- sounds obvious, but again...

this ties in with 12.

12. Dress well, take a shower, deodorant, etc... before the speech....

Hope that helps. :)

However, I am planning on saying the word poner in the yo form in the preterit(it is as complicated as it sounds). I just got back from a month long ban and I don't feel like getting banned right now, so I won't say how it's pronounced.

You should have just made that your entire presentation. Say it like two thousand times.

People would think you are a stud.

If you have a friend in that class than look at them everytime you start to feel nervous. Talk to them instead of the whole class. I can tell when my friends are nervous about talking to a class, and I always try to make them laugh. Its not like the teacher is going to dock them (or you) points for laughing as long as you dont get to carried away.

That might not always work. I had to do my health final last year and looked at my friend, and he purposely made me laugh non-stop : /

Thats what I do some times. If it's something that might actually effect they're final grade then no, but if it's an extracurricular activity that won't hurt they're grade then it's realy funny. I just stare into their eyes blankly, and sometimes I make a face thats not so goofy it atracts everyone elses attention, but at the same time will make the speeker laugh for no appaerent reason.

Just have a paper or something to read so you can just look at that. If you can't have that then just wing it. ;)
