^ On the point that there is no Mewtwo, at least we have a replacement in the form of Lucario. Although, if Lucario doesn't have a totally wicked second jump like Mewtwo, I won't be happy.
Then again, I'm gonna get sick of Sheik sometime.

Okay, two weeks ago I got to play some Brawl hands-on, since I have a friend that imported a Wii and Brawl. So let me give you some basic info on the final version of the game:

- Okay for starters, if you want to feel what Brawl is like bust out a copy of Melee and set the speed for 50 percent. The speed has changed that much since Melee, it is a halfway point between Melee and 64.

- Characters float like they did in 64, and gravity is pretty wildly different than it was in Melee. You can't KO at low percentages any more, so you have to get your foes to 150%-200% before you can for sure expect someone to get KOed.

- Heavy characters are now the best in Smash to be honest. The reason for this is because it's much harder for everyone to die, and they are some of the few characters that have a chance to KO at low numbers. They also have pretty strong recovery since most have some ^ move that can get them back on the stage rapidly.

- When you actually start playing, you forget that clones or Luigified characters exist. You have to approach every character differently, and they all play differently enough. You can't use the same mind games or have the same expectations.

- Despite the heavy characters being much better, you don't have to worry about balance. Every character in the game is evenly balanced, and all characters are broken in such a way that everyone is balanced. I don't think there is a single bad or unplayable character.

- Marth's final smash isn't as good as you might want to believe. If there is a break in the platform, it'll cancel out his Final Smash when he hits the ledge/end of that section. Also, more times than not, Marth's final smash will miss causing him to fly to his own death. He can initiate the Final Smash in the air, but that only makes it even more certain that he is going to die.

If you go into Brawl expecting it to be Melee 2.0, then you'll be pretty darn disappointed. Also you learn to adapt very rapidly to the different speed, gravity, and the likes. It's a great game, and once you start playing it you'll never go back to Melee.

I agree with you about Marth although I like the way his smash look, but you must remember that a few characters like Pikachu have that same problem.

What problem? Does Pikachu's Smash make him fly off to his death too? I haven't read up on the characters much, please elaborate.

I'm going to go play Melee on 50% speed to prepare for Brawl! BOO-YAH GAMESTOP TOURNY!

only good way to train with melee is 50% speed and fight the highest tier characters Ie; Falcon, C Falcon, Bowser, Fox, and Marth.

I wish they weren't on the same day as states...
then again, I have to take the National Spanish Exam on Saturday, so I can't go to a second states anyway... Looks like I'll be playing Brawl :p

actually take my advice.

dont play on 1/2 speed in training mode.

play full speed because in training mode you cant get the speed of whats played in brawl which is not 50% of melee, its about 80% speed of melee.

But change the damage ratio to 0.5 because thats about how brawl is in terms of how long it will take to get a KO.

I dont believe anything that comes off of SWF.

They will feed anyone bad information in the sake of getting upper hand in the SWF Tournaments they host.

Yup Pika's FS is Volt Tackle which make him turn into a ball of electricity, and he bounces all over the stage and he can fly off the edge if your not careful.

As long as you've reserved a copy you shouldn't be in trouble GameStop (whom I've reserved it with, and I'm assuming most everybody did as well) has to hold reservations for at least 48 hours, so if you come the day of release I'm sure they'll have it.

I reserved at Circuit City as I assumed everyone would to get the 10$ Gift Card. $40+bad customer service and a few hour wait > $50 IMO

Less than a week to go now.

right after states me and all my friends are going to the midnight release at our mall to get the game, then i am going to play it untill i can play no more.
