Haymakers can't beat it..

Simply because everyone besides 'Tuff has free retreat, so whomever they bring out, you switch out and kill. Chan can't hurt Scyther, and haunter kills him, Buzz doesn't do enough damage,

Chan can hurt Scyther, but only for meager damage. Good think a "classic" Haymaker from this time period would be running Electabuzz, and I think Movie Promo Mewtwo is just old enough to exist. Another thing to remember is that it doesn't matter that your guys have free retreat, because a Gusted Wigglytuff or Jigglypuff should be a prize. So you should be seeing this happen to you quite often:

a) GoW Wiggly out
b) S/ER what you have in play other than Wiggly
c) Hitmonchan OHKO's Wiggly.

and not to mention:

wiggly+full bench+pluspower=ONE HIT ANY HAYMAKER POKEMON

And that is special because? Haymaker is famous for trading blows. You OHKO a haymaker Pokemon with an evo, they OHKO your evo back. Guess who comes out ahead? Haymaker expended one less card. To turn around your little equation:

Hitmonchan+Active Wigglytuff=Prize

Your best bet for surviving is the Haunter. Of course, that is why they released Goop Gas in the very next set. How convenient a cut off point. Scyther's will be annoying. Just that, annoying. If you waste time powering them up on the bench, something else get's Gusted and KO'd. If you build while active, Buzz or Mewtwo will kill it in two.

You also have to remember Scoop Up, especially with Moview Promo Mewtwo.

I've seen this deck dominate every tournament it was entered in, and it's consistentcy is where it's power is at. Play against it AND THEN say it's weak to haymaker.

When I have the time, we shall have to. However, your arrogance makes me assume it will be a waste. Its possible you are indeed a skilled player, and your skill is giving you the edge against less skilled opponents. Your whole attitude makes me... distrust you. Even if we assumed for a minute that you are right, your entire way of presenting it is wrong.

The modified equivilant of Haunter might be Sandstorm Marril
[1W] Double Bubble (10x) Flip 2 coins. This attack does 10 damage times the number of heads. If either of the coins is heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.

Thus does 10 damage on average plus 75% chance of paralysis.
or Fire Red Cloyster
[2] Double Bubble (10x) Flip 2 coins. This attack does 10 damage times the number of heads. If either of the coins is heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.

Snow Cloud Castform or Spheal has a 75% chance of condition attack to, but no damage. (50% parlzd, 50% sleep = 75%)

I would bet a deck that plays very close to this might be the new Ludicolo that does 10 times the number of pokemon in play. Toss in a Pidgeot line with maybe some cast forms, you might be there.

The metagame must be just bad in your
area or you must have bad players who
don't know how to play unlimited properly. :thumb:

Also i've played against wiggly many times, it lost.

Ironic, i own Unlimted, and use only new pokemon(excluding the mimes), and here is how it works

Pidgeot to get me energy removals, Raticate to get tham back with energy i may have had to discard, after i hit them for a bit, or they evolve, i let loose a mime on them, anywhere from 20-80 damage most of the time(and more occasionally) raticate is great early and late game, cant be affected by status, 70 hp, retreive cards, and all for 1 energy, did i mentionthe fact that he can do 10 or 50 damage with a coin toss??? and golduck is a 2 energy 70 damage hitting mad man, he also has the power to confuse with a coin flip as a power, and most people play special energys(like double colorless) and that just adds to the mix of damage and prevention i do :) Mime Ex is the highest hp guy(excluding pidgeot whihc i never use to attack)) and a coupla gust of winds to get the guy i need or want to die out for the win, or to buy me some time.
