Well, I love you all, but I've really got to get sleep. I wake up at 4AM to meet up with Birch and the OK'ers so we can head to Houston. However, let me tell ya something...

I was born in Houston, and was a baby in Sugarland...so guess what? I'm returning home :cool:

Well Danny Squard will not be in attendance. Danny F just called me saying he was not feeling well. I would go myself, but I dont like long drives. Well hope everyone has fun. Clay....... defend the state from the invaders!!!!!!!!
 
Yeah I got sick from my parents, but I'm going no matter what. I don't know if anyone is gonna want to shake hands with me after a match...well cya everyone there and drive safely. :)
 
Good Morning Texas, Today is the big day, I'll be there early with
my Torchic "Bashamo" make sure you don't get burned or pecked ;O

Mission Destroy Zapdos/Dragonite failed although I won a few simulations
because a. I got to go first or b. The computer didn't get the Dual ball or c. it's only basic was Zapdos ex. or e. I got a rare candy and survived a few more turns.

Analysis: Zappy is only Beatable by a. Rare candy b Rockets admin c. Fighting Type pokemon, to take out the search one energy poke and attach it on to poke ie Voltorb/Elekid weak to fighting.. (Pupitar would be ok.)
-> Muk EX stops all Powers.

Dragonite is easier but with Ancient tomb.. make sure you have counter Gyms. Magnetic Storm is good, Cause that says dont apply resistance to fighting, Also Island cave may be helpful. So you could have advantage over zap, and cancel out resistance with Dragonite. ~ Crstal Shard A must have

Salamence ex: Also use crystal shard. Ancient tomb, and you still can play FIGHTING.

Over all: Play Fighing. Suggested: Tyranitar 1 damage to basics X3 1 of the other ones, 4 dark steel 4 darks, 4 rainbow?

Wish I could be there, but the drive/flight from Houston to Chicago is not easy, and I am running Chicago tomorrow (yes M45 is stretching his legs north!)

I was kinda laughing to myself that Zapy and D T-Tar Amphy was the finals..
I was like Tina has ESP and predicted this in the morning!
Thanks Water Pokemon Master but I did ok well, you know I run water and i died against the electric people. I did how ever beat Craydilly EX cause I had Blast ex on the first turn and Rockets admined for more energy.

This was my first chance to judge at a State Championship. I was in awe watching some of y'all play. I pretty much judged the 15+ players and had a blast doing it. Watching the excitement and the emotions from the players is second to none.

Patriarch, what a pleasure watching you win your first SC. Great job buddy. Lee, way to represent the Houston area. Second place ain't bad. Team Cook Mom made the playoffs, but mean ole' Ty knocked her out with Zap! Watch out Ty, she'll be back for ya!! :smile:

Congrats to Steven and Tracy. Too bad I didn't get a chance to watch y'all play. I know it was a hard fought battle in the two younger groups as well. Everyone did a great job, unfortunately, there can only be one winner in each age group!

Wel, it was truly a great event... Lots of talent, lots of fun, lots of Poke friends, all in one place! It was a pleasure. Hope to see you guys at other States, Prereleases, Regionals, Gyms, Nationals, Worlds...

Yeah it was my first State Championships and I had lots of fun. Met lots of people and played some great games. I had to leave before it was over, I'm glad to hear that Steven won. I know my San Antonio guys gave some of you hard times in battle. But nice job to all 3 winners, and good luck at Nationals. :)
