Since Birch says it isn't an official sanctioned event by TPCi, the rules for regionals wouldn't COMPLETELY apply here.

TPCi uses special DS's which are hooked up to a data box at the regional tournaments. This in turn showcases matches on HDTVs. But these boxes will also allow the ability for levels to be brought down to 50.

Since Birch wouldn't have this as a result, the only way to do auto adjustment to 50 is to have the matches on Battle Revolution. Though hosting the tournament on one wii with one copy of battle revolution WOULD drag the match ups considerably (a 32-player tournament can last for 6 hours on one tv from what I recall during the gamestop tournaments 3 years ago)

That is only a feature on heart gold and soul silver, because the games will have been out 5 days we are not requiring them, therefore we can not have that feature

That is actually incorrect the boxes have nothing to do with the mechanics of the game, they only keep the ds on and connected to the other, the auto leveling is a feature of the new games Heart Gold and Soul Silver Versions but not everyone will have access to those games in time for the tournament so we do not have access to that feature

really? Huh. Never knew about that with HG/SS, considering no one ever bothered to report it. Then again, hardly anyone ever seems to report on these sort of things until the domestic version's released.

Makes buying HG/SS all the more worth it.

pokemonrocks777-thats a good thing! I don't wanna see any Rain Dance teams or such things. It's gonna be old-fashioned. Just like Dallas Regionals last yr...

That's for Regionals only. Since everyone won't have HG or SS and the auto-leveling system, we are only allowed to use Level 50 and below.
