Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The Big Bliss - 5 in 1 - Updated with Variant 5!!!

It used to be that when someone criticized a list, they were reprimanded for not provided a better list or constructive criticism. But I see now that certain Pokegym members can do whatever they want and receive no warning.

Dante, excellent job. And I love ya for commandeering the name Truk.

Damn straight! and the same with everything primes said.
(pardon my sailors mouth)

i really liked this acticle, the counter one for blissey, and your queen one a while ago.

i was playing one of the speed blisseys in battle roads and i had a nice set up (turn 3 queen with growing bench support) that got ruined my an out of nowhere boost, 3 plus power, and a stregth charm, killing my queen one hit. i think that pokedex910is really speed up the deck.

I think Bliss will see Its true potencial with the realease of Leafon LvX in DP4, right know is pretty solid card, but in general overrated in many ways

Here's the list that I pilot:

4 Chansey MT
4 Blissey MT

4 Holon FF Energy
4 Boost Energy
8 Fire

4 Castaway
4 TV Reporter
4 Great Ball
4 Quick Ball
4 Super Scoop Up
3 Team Galactic's Wager
3 Celio's Network
3 Pluspower
3 Night Maintenance
2 Strength Charm
2 Cessation Crystal

It is working quite well thus far. Team Galactic's Wager is there because this deck tends to mulligan a few times. 4 Great Balls and 3 Celio's to maximize the change to get a Blissey with Quick Ball. Any comments are welcomed :)

That was really cool. I thought it was very descriptive and helpful. For a beginner that made all the difference. Fantastic.

Judging from some of these "Solo" Bliss lists, apparently 4-4 Blissey are almost interchangable with 4-4 Kricketune =\

...hurl.

While there's much room for improvement in the Blissvire list, I think you did an outstanding job compiling all of these variants. Great article!

The only thing that's truly hurting are the matchups (as mentioned by other players). I think you don't fully explore the metagame, or the outs that each opposing deck has.

Tournament success? That's a silly rule. Martin never had success with SMP, yet it became legendary.

anyone try with with dodrio? It is colorless so you can prevent weakness and resistant by include both fighting and fire energy. It can hit bench. Furthermore, it has free retreat cost, so you can add in some warp point if bliss happens to get confused or poison.

in the straight bliss deck, you may as well play 4 happiny, so that the blissey power can spped the deck up, i'm sure you could drop 4 things for it.

I was frankly a bit disappointed too when I read this Blissey article. The lists seem quirky and inconsistandt. But then I noticed something: the date of the article is September 8! That's SIX (and a half) WEEKS ago. A lot of people had early, strange builds back then. I think this article could have been helpful at the time, but now there are much better tournament winning lists, and list owners who could share excellent lists with us. Will they?

No way, Blissey is far superior in so many was. Cricketune has horrible HP and depends on having a full bench all the time. There are so many decks that can OHKO one Cricketune every turn and draw 4 (or 6) prize cards so fast it isn't even funny. Right after MTwas released, I saw so many people going nuts over Cricketune and wanted to make solo 4-4 Cricketune decks. I never understood the fascination, when the same expansion gave us the best solo deck Pokémon _ever_: Blissey. That people ever even wasted a second of their time putting together a Cricketune deck when Blissey existed right next to it is a mystery to me.

With straight Bliss, do you mean the deck that has no other Pokémon lines than Blissey and is based around the idea of dealing lots of damage with Blissey starting turn 2? 4 Happiny can NOT speed the deck up, in fact it completely ruins the deck's speed at the point of the match where speed is the most crucial: the first two-three turns of the match. If you start with a Happiny, you have to be lucky and get a Chansey turn 1, or wait until turn 3 before you can evolve to Blissey. That's way too slow. Blissey drawing a few extra cards now and then will never be worth it as a justification of turning a quick T2 Stage 1 attacker into a slow T3 Stage 2 attacker.

So folks, what kind of Blissey builds have people been losing to? I feel like that's a good question. If this deck resembles those decks, or doesn't, is important information.

Absolutely right. I've never played Happiny in any Blissey deck ever.

there is no reason to play happiny right now. these lists are sub-par at best. if a mod would seriously just ASK some of the good players to write an article im sure a lot would. i would have made a blisscatty article some time this week since i'm done with school.

right on, rhodesia! I say to all who complain, post your list right HERE! NOW!

As for Happiny, I like the extra Poke-Power I get with Blissey, and the opportunity to T2 Boost for 80 with Chansey. And I never have slow Happiny starts *ever.* Maybe 4 Holon Mentor has something to do with that. Just my two cents.

Happiny does slow it down. There will be times you start with it and go "darn, I wish I could get a T2 Blissey but I have to Mentor/Celio for BOTH Chansey and Blissey now". If you haven't run into that situation, then I guess you haven't tested enough? Trial and error will prove it.....

We're also beginning to work on articles on Blissey variants. We're not going to just throw some list on the deck forum without some explanation and input from a lot of us. It's coming soon.

uhh....they said MULTIPLE times what the TRUKs were. go back and read. it was the reports that were vague. i can provide links to posts if you'd like.

is it just me, or are both of those trainer lines exactly the same (for two entirely different decks)?

1 copycat, no stevens?

if you up the wager count to 2-3, you basically autowin empoleon.

"Did not test yet, but it’s a little on your side." :/

so yeah, just cause they didn't let you netdeck, doesn't mean the pokemon were under "wraps."

no, he's world champ. what he says, goes. end of.

TRUK=Rampardos. the champ says so
the sky is purple, cause the champ says so.

uh, why shouldn't they? why should i spend my time writing an article for the pokegym WITHOUT being asked?

Why do people plant trees in their area? Why do groups go to areas and pick up trash? Why do people participate in walking pledges for diseases like cancer?

BECAUSE IT HELPS THE COMMUNITY AND OTHERS.

I find it awful that players have to get compensated before they even think of contributing to the community (online and local).

Do you think I get compensated in any form for being a mod and help clean up spam in the forum? NOPE. Why do I do it? Because someone needs to do it and if nobody steps up and does it, the whole area deteriorates into spam and arguments.

I sometimes help judge tournaments. Do you think I do it because I get compensated for it? There are many players that do judge for that reason. But for me, I don't. I do it because the PTO needs help and I truly want to help. Tournaments need Judges more than they need players, so I step up and help.

It might not sound logical, but sometimes people do help out and contribute even if they aren't getting compensated in some form for it and even if nobody asks them to in the first place. And it's sad that many players are totally oblivious of this idea. Remember I said many, because some players do give back to the community.
