Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The iPad.

I'm not that into it. It's basically like a cooler looking netbook, about the same size and same hardware power. It's got an incomplete desktop environment, like the iiPod touch, so it's best to quite literally think of it as a scaled up model. I'd quite like to see what tablets are like in 5 years though, thanks to this start. (But I'm an open source fan, so I'm going to whine until I see Linux on one of these things anyway ).

This is the only reason I'm not throwing this out the window. I believe a tablet-like device will eventually be the future for many things, such as reading or managing a business. In a few years, what's in your Macbook Pro will be crammed into an iPad.

I'd actually like it more if you crammed the iPad functionality into a Macbook Pro. I've had a Tablet PC for about 3 years, and I've been more than happy with its functionality, and I've learned to deal with its quirks. I've always said that if Apple had made a Tablet PC (i.e. a laptop replacement), I would've gotten it completely regardless of price over the Gateway I've currently got. I firmly believe that Tablet PCs will eventually replace traditional laptop PCs. They are more functional and easier to use than their traditional counterparts, require less external hardware (such as a mouse), and have the same basic functionality as a traditional PC or laptop.

If Apple were to make a Tablet Macbook, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat, no questions asked. Their hardware just seems to *work* better than PCs, and their OS is second in my book only to Ubuntu, despite Ubuntu's usability quirks.

Tablet PC's did it wrong, but the iPad is almost as bad. If I wanted to get the same things as iPhone and iTouch users get, IDE BUY AN IPHONE OR ITOUCH. They shouldn't have made it a large iTouch and instad made it like a tablet Mac. Though I still wouldn't have bought it, because no drive means no wiping Mac and installing ubuntu, that would have been the better way to go.

However, I think this will pressure more companies into developing tablets more, and they may become popular in the future. I hope they do, they are a great concept.

The iPad is missing a lot of stuff that could've made it better.

Using an LCD screen sucks. Using the AM OLED would be way better

The lack of a camera is pretty lame.

No flash is brutal. It really limits what can be done on it

Also, I have no idea why they went with1024 x 768 pixel screen resolution as opposed to 1280 x 720

Do not see a real need for it unless you are in big business, just seems to be in between an iphone and computer.

Also not a big fan of mac computers, I just don't have $1,400 to spend on a $600 computer, but the itouch is very handy and affordable for what it can do!

This is the worst idea ever. It's just a computer, but with no keyboard (hardware keyboard that is, which I think is always better), disc drive, and a numerous amount of other features.

Also looks like it will break easy. If there's a flaw about the iTouch, it's that they break so easily. Seriously, a ridiculous amount of people I know have a screen that is broken in some fashion. Increasing the surface area and still keeping it that thin will make it prone to breaking, I'm sure of it.

there is no point to buying this thing. no USB port no flash support. what a big paper weight, its not even widescreen people!

You guys are missing the importance of the product though. Look past the fact that its another piece of $600+ trash from Apple and look at it as something that may pressure other companies to develop better products that are similar. Maybe it will force a better tablet PC?

I agree with Pat here. Although I'm pretty underwhelmed by this, and I imagine a lot of other people are as well, this could have the same affect as the iPhone did on the smartphone market. Let's hope so, at least.

I think it looks amazing and it may just be my computer for when I go to college (either that or my MacBook). It seems like it could spark a few ideas for other companies which will only make Apple produce more things for it. It is under my impression that you could use iLife on it??? If so, that makes it really nice. Bluetooth Keyboard also seems nice. I definitely want this as another thing to add to my library of electronic toys.

This is just an iPod from Wisconsin.

Eh? Eh?
Oh, I know. My friends and I like playing the word game "doublets" improperly, so the first thing I thought when hearing the name was "Wait, that's being pronounced wrong!".

I think the proprietary port system is dumb. My friends and I thought it would be much nicer if they had ports multifunctional. It's not hard to have one physical port that serves two or three things. I have one that does USB and E-SATA :)lol:). They could at least have normal USB and SD.

I definitely don't think this is something to buy to replace your computer. Why not get a netbook or a different tablet pc? You can't do flash on this, nor can you run multiple apps, which may be a problem.
