Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Trailer for the best movie of the summer released.

Dude chill out. Did you not see that he said no offense? Have you ever heard of a joke? Anyone one who posts on pokegym is automatically a nerd...including myself. Take it easy, man

Are we talking about the Nickelodon Awards? The only movie that has a chance of winning an award that matters (Oscars, Golden Globe) is Pirates, and that would only be for special effects. Harry might pull an nomination for effects as well, but I highly doubt it.

MTV awards is what I was talking about....it is a complete fan vote which I liike and there movies that are being nominated for awards on MTV are actually good.

Here are some of the previous winners for best movie of the year at the MTV Awards:

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Menace II Society
Scream
There's Something About Mary
Wedding Crashers

Those are far from best movie potential.

The MTV awards are highley skewed. Who votes for the MTV awards? Teenage girls. That's hardly a true representation of our population.

6 of the last 7 Oscars for best picture went to:

Gladiator
A beautiful Mind
Chicago
Million Dollar Baby
Crash
The Departed

What's your point?

Gladiator- Great movie, prolly my favorite of that genre, maybe even high than 300
A Beautiful Mind- Never saw, but my mom said it was amazing
Chicago- See above
Million Dollar Baby- Another great movie
Crash- AMAZING movie, really made you think
The Departed- Easily one of the best movies I've ever seen. Scorcese (spelling?) is amazing. Nicholson was insane (literally). Damon and DiCaprio played their parts perfectly. Wahlberg was fantastic.

So I don't see what your point is ;x

those are not good movies IMO.......
I have seen beautiful mind and it is just dreadful.
Million Dollar baby wasn't bad but I would rather bite my nails.
Crash.....FTL.....bad movie.
The departed wasnt too terrible I have seen it 2 times so it was decent.
Gladiator is a pretty good one actually...I think the movie could of done so much better than it did.
those movies werent even big sellers in the box ofice witht he exception of Million Dollar Baby.

Also, did you just make a comparison between Gladiator and 300???
I so hope you didnt because there is no comparison.
300 made more money in the box office in the opening weekend than Gladiator did for its whole time of being out.

Beautiful Mind is amazing.
Million Dollar Baby was amazing as well.
Crash was brave, smart, and filled with great acting.
The Departed was one of the smartest movies made in a long time.
Gladiator...enough said

It's hard to take you seriously when you say that incredible movies are terrible...

You do know that when people pay to see a movie, they don't know if it's good or not, right? There are plenty of movies that earn a lot of money. That doesn't make it a good movie. That's to be decided after they already bought the ticket. It doesn't matter how much money a movie makes. That has a lot to do with the audience and the advertising, not the quality of the movie.

Example: The Queen.
It made next to nothing in the box office compared to most movies, but it was brilliant. The main actress, whose name I can't remember, was amazing and won an Acadamy Award for it. According to your logic, the movie was bad because it didn't make a lot of money.

And yes, I will take the old people's opinions seriously, even if they are going to die in three years. They've seen more movies. They all have experience in movies. They get paid to have a clear understanding of what a good movie is. Ever heard of "The older, the wiser"?

I still don't know why you think that a movie is only good if it makes a lot of money...

Goodness or 'briliance' of a movie is subjective.

Box Office is objective.

For example, Pirates 2 was not nominated for picture of the year, even though it grossed TEN TIMES as much as each of the movies that was nominated.

And BTW, if the academy was truely unbiased, LOTR would've won for best picture 3 consecutive years.

Well I'm not saying that the Awards or Oscards AREN'T biased, but you guys make it sound like they are totally off :/

I thought Pirates 2 was a very poor movie, at least compared to the first one. It lost a lot of its wittiness and dark mood about it. The story was really out there as well and it just dragged on (ie the island fight scene, with the wheel thing, it just went on and on and on).

My favorite movie was Pirates 1, so I'm hoping Pirates 3 will be better.

Vegeta- Yes, I think Gladiator was better than 300. 300 was very good, but it had way too much fighting and not enough story for me. The Departed and Crash are some of my favorite movies as well, I can't believe you didn't like Crash.

ding ding ding.... we have a winner....Thats why I like awards that are chosen by the "people".

They are, but they effectively limit the selection committee to about 0.000001% (random small percentage) of the moviegoing population. Granted, the VMAs aren't a whole lot better percentage wise, but still, anything is better than nothing.

lol so "old people" aren't people?
if you would of I said "by the people" which means the majority of people and not that committee of 10 old farts. Yes the oldies are people obviously...well partially not counting the mechanical hearts and the breathing tubes which make them look like robots but they are old and they like the "old" style of people.

lol

Oh well, Oscars, MTV Awards, Gold Globes...whatever, I think we can all agree 2007 has a lot of excellent movies in store for us!

The Da Vinci Code (coming in 21st) grossed $749,536,138 in world-wide box office. And it was TERRIBLE. I really don't see you winning an argument by saying that something that makes a good amount of money solely because the book was amazing (and the movie was horrible ;/) makes it the best movie eva.

The Academy Awards IS correct. Just because the movies that win Best Picture are not full of half-nude men skewing one another with a stick does not make the oeople who award the movies in the Academy Awards are wrong. They awards movies on more that just "OMGZ that was sooo koolz!!111!11!". They award on acting, directing, central theme of the movie, point coming across, filmography, and sooooo much more. They award on a movie in a whole.

While I am not saying 300 was not an amazing movie, and that it was not unique and different than the rest of the movies that show, I do not think that it will win Best Picture because it is lacking in most of those qualities. But I can be wrong, but if a high-quality picture that is even close to movies like The Departed and Crash (in quality of the movie) come out to theatres, they have a high chance of defeating 300 to the race. Though I can be wrong.

There's been many not-so-great movies that have grossed high just because of them having something to back themselves up. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory grossed $471,856,431 (coming in 42nd) in 2005, most likely defeating the Best Picture Winnier,Crash, in the box office.

So, since I am tired of typing, are you basing your argument by saying that Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is by far a superior movie to Crash and was deserving the win of Best Picture because it grossed more money? Is that your reason? If not I am sorry, but by saying that higher-grossing movies are better than the movies that win Oscars, ...I just don't understand.

I like the movies that are interesting and not just serve some pathetic point. The movies I like are not the movies that usually win the best picture because they are not interesting to me. They spend tooooooooooo much time on the picture than rather the appeal the movie brings to the people as in excitment. I seen crash and it literally made me want to crash off of a cliff.
I also agree with you that the Davicni Code was TERRIBLE but th only reason why it got as high as it did is because of the pathetic religous freaks who think that by watching some dumb movie that there religion will get enhanced and they will be enlightned but, in reality, they are losing brain cells.

So.......The GOOD movie are the movies that are interesting and make you want to buy the movie. Also if a movie is good then people will buy it. If the movie is bad then people will download it illegally so....if you dont want your movie downloaded illegally then make an actual good movie.
