Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Tricky vs. Deceptive Behavior (updated 2/12)

One thing I like to do, is if I don't have a Power Spray in my hand, and my opponent uses a power, I think long and hard about whether I want to power spray or not, getting them to think I have one in my hand. :)

^That was covered earlier in this thread (or on some thread) as well, and is also deceptive. Acting like you have the card AT ALL is deceptive.

oh and then since they ALREADY played a Supporter (Roseanne) Theyyy would get the penalty

yo I mean you go for a baltoy and a uxie but don't play down the uxie and save it for next turn. The following turn you play down uxie and set-up, if they don't have the power spray you looker's outta no where and call the judge over.

My main point is that isn't a cool thing to do and if someone challenged you to it you would definitely get the game loss.

This always gets me all annoyed when at a tournament. The player next to you HAS t oshow you their awful hand or great hand, and it certainly gets the opposite player all afraid. Let's say the opponent KNOWS that their opponent who showed me their hand was playing Machamp. They might decide to put down an Uxie to avoid being donked, wasting that Uxie drop.

I must admit though, sometimes I will say things like "darn" to myself by instinct when I search my deck for a card that's prized, etc... Would this be deceptive? I don't really mean to say it, it just sort of comes out as a result of years of learning how to react to misfortune by instinct, and it is meant to be a sort of talk to myself. Would this be considered bad?

I think we all mutter to ourselves at times during matches LOL. We are human, we make mistakes. I cannot see where that act would be punishable by any judge.

i agree with many arguments against bluffing...but i still like it.....

but what i`m not understand:

It´s allowed to show my oppenet my hand (for exampel i have a power spray on my hand)

this action can bring my oppenet in a situation where he made a mistake, or does it not?

BUT

hold a card in a special way that my oppenet think is a power spray ( for example i have no power spray in my hand) is bluffing and against the rules..

somthing is wrong about this.... thats a paradox oO

What? No, you DEFINATELY can't just SHOW your opponent your hand out of nowhere.

^why not ;/ it's fun to do that when your bored.. so if you have a horribe hand and just drop it on the table (not in discard or anything like that) it's a game loss?

ah ok. on a sidenote, when i'm only half paying attention, and they use a power or whatever and then don't wait for, then i notice a second later and say. "wait, i wanted to power spray that!" then it's a big argument... it gets kinda annoying.

If you arent paying attention and miss the chance to spray.....guess which way I would rule. Gotta pay attention and play the spray TIMELY.

but they didn't give me any chance to use it, they just started to do other things right after it.

They don't need to wake you up.
They just need to declare it clearly and give a moment.
It's up to you to be aware of that moment.

I think instead of arguing whether or not bluffing is cheating, I will instead argue about what sort of sad, pathetic player has to resort to bluffing in order to win games.
