Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Triumphant Top20

Yanmega Prime > Gengar Prime

@GoldenThumb: Yanmega's not even on your top20 list?

...

It's not a top 20 card and it's certainly not better than Gengar prime.

It has a situational body that requires constant supporter usage to remain relevant, not to mention that Dialga G Lv.X just doesn't care. You either build your deck around not having to use energy, and autolose vs Dialga, or you build it normally in which case there are much more energy efficient alternatives.

Fighting resistance is cool, but having the second worst weakneess in the game(The first being Colorless) is absolutely not cool.

It relies on a gimmick to be successful, gimmick decks rarely work, see shiftry.

Gengar prime on the other hand cannot be directly countered. You can run a fossil to deal with the constant usage of seeker, and you can run Dialga G Lv.X to deal with the other primes, but it syncs well with Gengar X due to the second attack and really has a large amount of ways to deal with threats. This is BEFORE lost world comes out and tears the game open.

Yanmega syncs poorly with all other yanmega's. You have one with energy accel in a deck that doesn't need many energy, one with energyless spread in a deck that would rather 40 snipe.

Not to mention that all of the attacks are just....meh.

40 isn't enough for a snipe and 70 isn't enough for a an OHKO. It might be a cool tech against machamp with the lack of energy needed and the fighting resist, but it is NOT better than Gengar Prime.

Without Lost World stadium, Gengar Prime is not that good.

Yanmega can do 70/90 damage belted turn1 with Broken-time space. Plus, you can easily keep your hand equal to your opponent's hand via Judge, Looker, Copycat, or just playing cards down from your hand.

It should AT LEAST be one of the top20

1. Twins
2. Junk arm
3. Seeker
4. Machamp prime
5. Rescue energy

There's my top 5.

Twins will revolutionize the metagame entirely.

Junk arm is great, and gives Dialgachomp a new playtoy it never really needed in the first place.

Seeker is awesome. Re-using mespirit's has no downside unless your opponent is smart and preps multiple sprays to stop the lock for a turn. Other options abound as well. Only reason it isn't higher is because people did the same thing with flints. Yeah, it's cool, but I don't think the majority of the gym realizes how big it is using your supporter for the turn in a way that usuallly doesn't help you get set up.

Machamp prime gives machamp an answer to all the decks that it didn't have one for before. Yeah, it's straight forward, but it can afford to be when it does as much damage as it does.

Rescue energy makes Gyara a contender again, and helps a TON of stage 1 and stage 2 decks. Nuff said.

I play dialgachomp and am always looking for ways to improve, how would you use junk arm in dialgachomp? what purpose would it serve?
