Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK Ex Delta Species Pre-release Tournament Dates and Details

Unfortunately, the Falkirk Prerelease was cancelled today...not due to lack of players but to lack of venue. Megazone, our Falkirk location for league and tournaments, had flooded and they had to turn off all electricity. Fear not, however, for the prerelease WILL take place next sunday at Megazone, from 12pm till 3pm, as before, with league preceding from 10am. Assuming I get back from London ok the night before, I will be judging! :thumb:

Hope we can see you there!

I hope this gives lots of people a chance to get their hands on Delta Forces cards in time for their City Championships.

SSSSHHH don't tell them anything... j/k

Great fun had by all even with the low turnout but we were competing directly with a YGO prerelease on the same day and it's the end of the half term hols so lots of kids catching up w/ homework I guess. Congrats to Adam TING... yes the TING clan are back and one at least will be making a guest appearance at Saturday's CC in London. Second place went to Stephen Clarke... well done. We have bits and pieces left from the pre's that I'll be giving away. Fantastic first prize at the pre on Sunday included a blue Poképark folder of promos, 10 boosters of the new set, a Rukario deck box, 50 each of every basic energy type (sealed before anyone asks), POP2 boosters, 2 boxtoppers and a whole set of badges from last year's league seasons. Oh, and a Feraligatr Japanese half deck to boot. Second place got the Meganium half deck with their booty pile. All competitors were happy with the deckboxes we were able to magically conjure out of nowhere for every competitor. With free sleeves for each competitor too it was an exhausting but fun day had by all.

Many thanks to Avmozz for the extra booty that will be given away in the post-post-release events we're running too ^_^ He's getting better and better, making T4 this time around...

Please please add the events to the first page as although they are kinda 'post' events they still have things like prerelease cards that will be given away making them more special than the usual sealed event cheers ta /endsgrovelling

I'd appreciate if you could do that too for the final Falkirk pre/after/whatever release event, considering the official one got flooded yesterday.

Thanks.

Dont want to be a party pooper. BUT.

I'm sure I read somewhere that additional prizes had to be cleared with Jarrod/POP. I doubt that they would be concerned over small additions however 10 boosters isn't small. Nor is the pokepark folder.

POOOPA!!! POOOPA!!! POOOOOOOOOPA!!!!!!!

It was made clear through an announcement at the tourney that they were donated by Avmozz and not POP. As some of the entrants were really looking forward to receiving goodies from Japan it was the least I could do. Plus if anyone 'official' would have seen the great sportsmanship that was on display throughout the whole day from all of the players like I had and particularly from those who ranked high up in the tournament they'd only have agreed that the 'bump-up' was fully deserved. We as TO's are encouraged to promote sportsmanship and Spirit of the Game. Giving tangible rewards such as surprise Japanese goodies (which wasn't planned at all, the fact that Avmozz turned up let alone brought something for everyone to take home from the tournament was a surprise in itself) is just my way of promoting good sportsmanship.

And when you see 8 year olds new to the game facing off MUCH more experienced players and giving it their all, the question of being so generous through sportmanship prizes is pretty much a no-brainer to me.

I'm sure if you ask nicely Avmozz would be able to sort you out a Poképark folder at an affordable price to you too =) As for boosters I have a photo somewhere of me receiving a boosterbox from you personally at one of your tournaments so it is relatively small actually come to think of it ;)

I try to have extras at my tournaments too.. but I have scaled back what I do at pre-releases. Partly because of numbers and partly because of the instruction that augmented prize support had to be cleared with POP. I doubt that arguing that it is Avmozz who is giving away the extras will wash with POP. I'm not trying to spoil the experience for players: I'm guessing that POP's intention is to ensure uniformity both for attendees at a particular tournament and for those that can travel to multiple tournaments. At least for tournamens that recieve POP's imprimatur of "premiere" that is.

It's a fair point. I'll bear it in mind for the future.

Updated with Slough after the release 8 player Mini-Tournaments - make sure you pre-register as places are limited to 8 players at each of the three events.
