Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

US Nationals Dates, Participation Requirements formally announced

So question: is the Professor Cup still going on this year, or is it going to be permanently canceled due to last season's hijacking?

Not assuming anything or trying to speculate - just curious...

How many points did we have to get last year?

I went to Nationals and didn't even know we had to qualify, but I guess I did qualify since I participated.

This is the first year with a point requirement to get into Nationals. :thumb:

It's funny, because if I went to every tournament in the state of New Mexico this season, I don't think it would meet the point requirement. Not very happy right now to say the least.

We still don't know how much Cities, BRs, Leagues, and States are worth in terms of Play! Points. Anything I'd put here would be simply a guess...

Wish I understood more about the qualifications of Nationals, Worlds, etc.

Indianpolis is pretty far away from me... How exactly do I get a paid trip there considering I won't be able to participate otherwise? Too expensive for a college student.

Looks like you are going to need to win a State or Regional Championship.

No. Wrong. You'd have to ATTEND that many events. Simply playing the event out without dropping is sufficient to earn the PLAY points needed for nationals entry. The points are simply designed to not allow people to sign up and then drop just to get free merchandise.

That was directed at "how can i get a paid invitie" so actually it is correct.

Well, I better go to all the events I can. I haven't been able to attend anything really. Do you think I could still get 10 play pokemon points?

Probably. Regionals count as 5. BRs count as 1. I'm guessing League counts as 1 per season. Cities, States, Prereleases, and (possibly) regular sanctioned tourneys should also count for some amount.
