US Nationals Moved...

Save $50 per person on Origins tickets and instead spend all that money on a plane ticket when before you could drive there.[QUOTE/]

The North has had Nationals for forever. How do you think that those in the South felt when we had to buy a plane ticket AND pay for an Origins pass? Even though Worlds has been in the South for a while, Texas is still pretty far away from either of them.

This is an issue for St. Louis as well. Plenty of New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern state players could easily drive to Ohio as it is a pretty central location. You're meaning to say that this isn't gimping Ohioans, Pennsylvanians, Michigan players, MD Players, and so on?

Not all of us are rich people who can afford plane tickets, either.
Pretty much a lot of the east coast. Sure now some people can drive who didn't have to before, but most of the country lives on the east or west coast. Its just a simple fact.

The Key word is I. Not we. Not everybody lives that close sometimes change is for the better. People who live in MO are happy just like people in Ohio when it was there. And i would gladly keep 50 Dollars if i drove there or flew there when it was in ohio or w/e. Its not ever going to be fair to everybody and it never is going to be

Great move PUI. Lets take the biggest event in pokemon and move it to the middle of nowhere. :nonono:

At least OH was a more central location (player wise) and fairly easy for the east coast players to get to. So what was the idea to make it so that the east coast player all have to fly to get to nats? Most of the west coast has to fly to nats no matter how you look at it, so it may as well be in a better location.

But you could make it fair to the majority, or at least the largest minority. That certainly won't happen with Nationals in St. Louis.

My biggest thing is that the West coast doesn't typically have to worry too much about plane trips either, as worlds events do occur over there more often than not, so we still have to get tickets to fly out there.

But now to two locations? I mean, no offense, but there is a large amount of players over here on the east coast getting totally gypped by this.

Something else to note, and again, no offense, but Ohio's player base has more than both Kansas and Missouri's combined. Thats a lot more people you're hurting.

Finally someone who gets my point. POP has now made it that instead of just people on the west coast having to fly now people from both coasts have to. How thoughtful. There are way more players and the east coast then in the MO area.

So let me get this straight you are mad because you can't drive there? What about last year when we couldn't drive to Ohio and texas has a fairly big player base if I remember we had the biggest regionals and a pretty big states. Florida has a big player base as georgia does and mo proably does too.

Bottom line yes. Chances are I can't actually go now. Secondly, its not just me. Far more pokemon players lived within driving distance of Nationals when it was at Origins.

Wow ,$407.99 per ticket with tax.
Bye-bye nats...
But Missouri , why in heck did they pick a random place like Missouri.

I love this game , but with me being too young to get a good paying job and my parents probably past the poor line , I barely have enough to make it to regionals.

Columbus was awesome and always will be. They need to change it back to Columbus and make it during Origins. Origins gave a reason to go down to make the trip because you can do stuff after, were as St Louis (!?!?!??!), fail.

MO has a decent amount, but not nearly enough. I'm not personally mad I can't, its not a big deal, I'm a big boy, I can deal with road trips. The fact of the matter is that you're hurting a lot more people with this on the entire east coast alone.

Yes, Texas is a large state, 13-14 pages worth of masters players. However, what else is down in your area of notability in large player bases? The entire region surrounding Ohio by itself has a large enough player base to be bigger than Florida, Texas, and California by itself. Florida gets worlds on occasion, California gets it more than on occasion, you're pretty much telling a huge player surrounding area not to even bother. Columbus is even closer to Florida anyways in distance to MO, so that shouldn't even be an issue. You're getting rid of a large event in the Mid west region, and that as a whole, ticks me off. We're probably never gonna see a Worlds at New York City, ever, which would be extremely affordable for a lot of people up here, and now Origins goes away?

Sorry, I have reason to be ticked, and I can see why others also can be.

Pokémon is pleased to announce that, due to overwhelming success and growth, the Pokémon TCG U.S. National Championships will be moving to
St. Louis, Missouri!

No offense to POP in anyway, but are you kidding me? I love there excuse, due to the overwhelming success and growth. Wow, just wow. I am just speechless at this point.

If I couldn't go last season because of the distance and cost, I would like to see how I'll get to Nats this year.

QUOTE=Serebii1997J;1255069]I don't think POP is lame. However, I think they should have at least surveyed people for an opinion.[/QUOTE]

I agree 110%.

BOOOOOOOO!!!! What the smeg!?

This makes me just wanna quit the Pokemon TCG altogether!!!!

St. Louis???? That makes no sense to me. Count me out as theres no way I can go that far now.

Does anyone know if Origins still plans on holding Pokemon events at all then?

Plane ticket's are weird right now, it actually is better to buy them close to the time you travel and farther away. I was looking at the same thing where tickets are like $430 right now after tax. But I looked at the first week of December and it's about half that. Obviously there's a ton of variables and that might not hold true until Nats, but hopefully the same trends occur then that are now in the airline business and the tickets will be cheaper in May!

That's the point you can't make everybody happy. What do you think the people traveling from CA, TX, NY, were saying traveling to Ohio and how much money they had to spend on gas. I am one of the players that benefits from the move to St. Louis. I'm just saying Origins messed up and now they have to pay facts of life. You don't get rewarded for mess ups.

Well I don't see why someone from CA would drive to OH or MO. Both are very very long drives. The prices for plane tickets are almost the same to both locations. And your NY analogy makes no sense. MO is farther away from NY than OH is. And if this is all over Origins messing up with the event tickets than POP or needs to get their priorities straight. The vast majority of player seemed happy with how Nationals went last year, and no one seemed to have a problem with running pods.

And then there are people like you who think that everything POP does is perfect. Guess what? They have made a lot of bad decisions. They've already ruined the K value for events this year, and now they've messed up Nationals too. Oh well, I guess the POP guys get an extra hour of sleep now.
Obviously you have no idea what your speaking of. I've been very vocal about the decrease of points and prizes, but I've never been ungreatful for winning such prizes. They've ruined the K value since they started with the K value. Deal with it, not everybody gets to win thier way to worlds through points. Obviously you think they messed up nats because you live in Ohio (at least thats what has been said in this thread, so I'm just going with that). I live in freaking Rhode Island, and it's crap to go to Ohio, Florida, Cali, Hawaii, and *draws blank on 4th place for worlds* when it's never near here (I don't count 600 miles as being near here). As far as I'm concerned, this is a great move by pop, and as long as theres enough ads, they can easily work around this lack of the origins hype (who actually goes to Orgins for the convention and says "Oh, I'm going to play in that massive pokemon tournament"?).
