Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

US Nationals Moved...

That's the point you can't make everybody happy. What do you think the people traveling from CA

CA Players don't really even have room to complain as worlds is right there in San Diego. Grind in there, and you're good to go. Nationals is at least a chance for some of us to get in through other means.

(I don't count 600 miles as being near here)

You count 1100 miles near? I can see why you can get annoyed with the staleness, but there really is less to do there than there is in Orlando, San Diego, Anaheim, or Honolulu. You're gonna be disappointed, ser.

Obviously you have no idea what your speaking of. I've been very vocal about the decrease of points and prizes, but I've never been ungreatful for winning such prizes. They've ruined the K value since they started with the K value. Deal with it, not everybody gets to win thier way to worlds through points. Obviously you think they messed up nats because you live in Ohio (at least thats what has been said in this thread, so I'm just going with that). I live in freaking Rhode Island, and it's crap to go to Ohio, Florida, Cali, Hawaii, and *draws blank on 4th place for worlds* when it's never near here (I don't count 600 miles as being near here). As far as I'm concerned, this is a great move by pop, and as long as theres enough ads, they can easily work around this lack of the origins hype (who actually goes to Orgins for the convention and says "Oh, I'm going to play in that massive pokemon tournament"?).
Obviously YOU have no idea what you're talking about. I don't live in Ohio. No one in this thread has said, or implied that I live in Ohio. Apparently you seem to think complaining about changes POP makes to the game somehow means that I'm ungrateful for the prizes that I've won.

That's the point you can't make everybody happy. What do you think the people traveling from CA, TX, NY, were saying traveling to Ohio and how much money they had to spend on gas. I am one of the players that benefits from the move to St. Louis. I'm just saying Origins messed up and now they have to pay facts of life. You don't get rewarded for mess ups.

But Origins stupid mistake shouldn't hurt the entire east coast. The west coast at least gets worlds a lot (FL hardly counts as the east coast as its down so far) and the east coast now gets NOTHING.

The problem is that when you make the minority happy and the very large majority unhappy.... bad things happen.

This is silly.... One of the best things about US Nats is its in Origins, meaning there is SO MUCH TO DO. Without it... I mean what is there really to do in MO?

Eh, they will do this one year, no one will like it, then they move back to Origins. Everyone just bare with POP for this year.

Oh I absoltuely do. Why else should you complain? Because you have to drive further? Less to do? This is life. Theres plenty of things to do besides pokemon.

I beg to differ with you, when you live in Seattle, let me assure you that Florida is most definatly on the East Coast.

All of you people who live near Ohio please stop whinning, you had Nats close to you for many years. Instread of being geatfull that it was so convinant for so long for you, you are all acting like its your birthright that you should never have to travel far to participate in Nationals. This move was a good idea. And its also a little tireing of players in the North East acting like the are the only people that exist to be counted as being on the "East Coast" Last time I checked a map, the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida are all on the east coast as well, and I am sure that they all welcome the move to Ohio for this years Nationals event.

Cut the whinging people.

St Louis Missouri is the most central location as possible for most of you.

Its great to hear. Seriously.

^ The above poster is from Ohio!

This is awesome...To think...I could actually "drive" to Nationals now!

Tell me about it! I don't see why people are so mad about this. Mo. is closer to the Center of the US. It's a lot closer for me and a lot of people to get there now, but everyone in Ohio and NorthEastern States are mad. Eh, it's not like you can do anything about it, go there, play the game, and have fun.:thumb:

I've never been to Nats before, this may be my first year!

If they moved nats then let's hope they move worlds from the south and west. North anyone? One the east coast maybe?

The numbers will be a lot smaller this year, whether people believe it or not. I'm quite certain that Florida, the Carolina's, and Georgians are probably complaining about a further drive. At least its north to Ohio and not North and East to Missouri.

Another thing Origins had was a couple additional days to practice for those who came early enough, which was nice, especially meeting a lot of other players flying in from all over the country. It does not seem like this will be the case now.

St Louis Missouri is the most central location as possible for most of you.

Its not quite as central as you might think.

And I agree with Bruce. Move our nationals, at least give us worlds over here so we don't have to fly everywhere now.

I think that if they moved it because some people were unhappy then that is a poor choice. I think that it shouldn't of been moved. I think that if they are trying to get a "Pokemon Only" event fine, but I enjoyed Origins because it is an enjoyable experiance. I mean there are other things to do their. I understand why they felt they needed to move but I wish they didn't.

I would like to know if this is a permant location or if next year it will be changing once again. Also, I would like to know why they chose St. Louis over everywhere that could of been chosen.

Jason, as you don't live hear I wouldn't really expect you to know this, but St Louis is NOT the most central location. Just because its central doesnt make it a good idea. Heck, lets move worlds to the center of antartica. After all its central, so that must make it a good idea. >_>

Aww, I liked Origins. =(

Without a States/Regs win, driving is now out of the question for me. *sigh*

But isn't Antarctica, like, not in the United States?

I have so many sour grapes about this.

I understand PUI's logic. Moms and dads of 10- players complained. And since 10- "is the future of the game" and therefore deserves special treatment whenever possible (# of worlds invites every year cough cough), they weighted those opinions far higher than the opinions of the older players.

That, and they're just sore about the attendance cap screwup last year. Which could've easily been fixed this year.

There are SO many things that make Origins amazing. I can't even begin to list them all. But here are just a few:
-I don't know about you all, but I rather like the fact that Origins isn't Pokemon-exclusive. There are so many new people you can meet at Origins that you can't meet at a Pokemon-exclusive event. And no, the majority of them AREN'T "scary".
-The vendor hall, which doesn't even need explanation.
-The KARAOKE bar. God, Nationals 08 would've been so lame if not for that. This is one of the things that disappoints me the most. The karaoke was just so amazing this past nats, ugh.
-Last but not least.... THE ACE. If Nats wasn't at Origins, we never would've had the glory that is THE ACE join the game.

Ugh. So many sour grapes.
