does anyone know if the vendor will be selling singles?

No, the vendor will not have singles. She will have sleeves (for those who get a "no-no" at deck check), randomizers, and packs.

Ah! I'd assumed the vendor would have singles.

Do people normally run with their trade binders for events like this? I just started playing a few days ago and needed to trade/buy for 5 or so cards. Would love it if people who read this brought trades!

Thanks all.

People usually bring cards to trade. I recommend getting there early and being able to modify your deck list accordingly if you're going to do this.

how many people are they expecting at the VA states?

144 last year. Actually we were right behind the "really big boys" in terms of numbers. I'm here, the venue's set, and all systems are go!!!! See everyone soon. No late night testing now; get some rest!! :thumb:

Memo to myself:

Remember:
*directions
*stopwatch
*clipboard
*camera
*labcoat
*penalty sheets
*those 2 cards
*black book
*the back seat
*the special box

The REAL mini report:

fadeout.dec.

5-2 swiss (some really frustrating games in here, some where everything went off without a hitch)
T16: Loss to Spiritomb/Dusknoir (Night Spin). Despite her terrible sleep flips, Angelina beats me because I play five thousand trainers. I'll get you next week!

Props:
- People who loaned Ryan and me stuff we needed
- The venue
- Huge attendance and top 16 cut
- Gambling addictions

Slops:
- The long, long wait for Round 1 pairings
- Getting the assurance of both the judges and the vendor that the sleeves I was about to buy were tournament legal, buying the sleeves, showing them to the judges, and listening to them debate their legality for five minutes. Everything worked out (I got to play them), but what a waste of nine bucks.
- Sloppy play
- My deck being much less generous than it was at Cities
- Ryan getting 9th seed in Seniors
- Exeggutor LA
- Spiritomb

gonna pass out now

There is like no way of getting around Dusknoir's Night Spin if your Shuppet. I've been practicing so much against FlyClops with Shuppet Donk.

Yup, Luke won in Masters. Chris N got 2nd.

A big TO apology for the delay. TOM wonked out us by giving 101 Masters the dubious honor of all being seated at "Table 0" for Round 1. Yeah, we had to reenter them all again in a fresh file (thanks, Pam and Megan for handling that fun task!!)

Props to ALL my judges and staff, especially Timothy for handling the HJ responsibilities with a Nationals level of professionalism. Pam, Chris, and Megan mastered the TOM beastie after that first snafu (11 rounds in Masters done by 10:30!!!). Mary I continues to amaze, and my other LLers around the state are just incredible at keeping the growth curve of this game continuing in VA. You are the ones who deserve the thanks for Pokémon's success in VA!

Travelers always deserve a prop or two, so thanks to all the MD and NC players who came out. A special shout out to "AJ and the Ohioans" for spending their day with us.
