I think it's funny that the VA thread is talking about MD tourneys. Does the unsanctioned thing apply to Glen Burnie as well? That one's not listed on the website either.
 
I'd like something official regarding Rockville or Glen Burnie. Could Laurel, Tara, an Aadvarker, or Kevin W please post something either here or create a new thread? Folks who travel for Premier events would like to know. All I can say is at the moment, neither of these 2 MD events are showing on the Premier locator. So, "officially" they aren't City Championships... :frown::frown:

I was at BC Games today and looked at the prereg list. Still plenty of spaces, but not a single NoVA player/MD player has signed up!! If y'all are just gonna give this one to the locals, I'll pass the word on!!!

BTW, all CC's are prized with an 18/10/4/4 prize structure. But that k-value is sooooo important!

Glen Burnie is right here. It also shows up on the tournament locater. Not sure why it wouldn't be there for you. Rockville isn't there though.

It is right here: http://www.op.pokemon-tcg.com/tournaments/details.asp?tournament_id=812000097 , complete with "sanctioned" as its status. It has been on the locator since atleast Thursday when I was preparing my tournament e-mail.

Kevin and Mr. T are correct - Glen Burnie isn't on the complete list of City Championship locations/dates on the OP website. But its individual page has its status as sanctioned. This weirdness surrounding the status of not only Glen Burnie, but Rockville as well, is lame. Prompt updates on the OP website for VA events for the win.
 
Glen burnie is sanctioned and titled as "City Championship." Probably a problem in registering it. Rockville, on the other hand, has no equivilant tournament in the locator so someone dropped the pokeball on either the store's side or POP's side.

I know this thead is about Virginia's 08-09 City Championship Info. I have to say that "Rockville" is a great place I learned to play there and Kevin is great at teaching new players the game as well as others...:pokeball: Cities @ Rockville would equal any other place having it.....:thumb:
 
Glen Burnie Cities

Hey Everyone,

Glen Burnie was Sanctioned and Registered on time. I am not sure why it is not showing up on the list but we are looking forward to a great event and hope to see some of VA friends.

Kevin can't sanction it. The TO(in this case, laurel) has to sign the paperwork in time. It didn't make it in time. So, therefore, there is no way possible for it to be sanctioned for medals, premier points, and other POP prizes(excluding the packs).

Kevin dosen't have the power to sanction it; nor does laurel. There was a deadline, and laurel failed to turn them in(i don't mean it this way, as she probably already faxed them or whatever, but ususally it seems anything you fax dosen't get through for a while, ESPECIALLY as I've heard with new members under 13 here), so it can no longer be sanctioned, as pop has to do that.
