Virginia's 2009 Autumn Battle Road Info!!

But:
•Local Richmond-area leagues are starved for junior players. Many of our juniors, maybe even to a greater extent than at your league, Timothy, are still at the beginning of the learning curve. Last week for instance, I explained to a player (who has been attending league now for at least 6 months) that he should probably have more than 2 trainers in his deck. Not 2 types of trainers, mind you, 2 cards.
•With prizes going down to 4th now (and a cool door prize), your young-uns would certainly do ok.

Kenneth and Carter are forces to be reckoned with, sure. But even they have off days, right?? The point is that Battle Roads, near or far, are a FAR better "first tournament" than a regionals.
 
I'm not saying that players from NoVA leagues should not go to SoVA events, I'm saying that I am not aware that any of them have recently, in defense of Fredericksburg(ers).

Timing is very tricky. It is hard for leagues to accomidate away tournaments. It means confusion with the schedule and missed days. Atleast for me it does because I don't have a back-up LL.

My juniors are still at the beginning of the learning curve?!?!?! :eek: .
*heh heh* I should probably check on this. I'm really more focused on that they know how to play rather than deck construction.
 
Surprised I haven't posted here yet...
The only ones I DEFINITELY can't go to are Harrisonburg and Fairfax.

I'll definitely be at Virginia Beach, Midlo is very likely, and Fredericksburg is a MAYBE.

I almost couldn't even go to Virginia Beach because I had a table tennis tournament!
Luckily there is one the day before as well I can attend (Why I'm not going to Warrenton).

Rogue Archetype, PLEASEEEEE please please come to VB! You've made the trek before for CC, and did it last year for Fall BR. It would be super awesome if you did this year, too.

Plus... you're favorite Virginia Beach player is now a Master! So maybe I'll get to play you!

I should be at Midlo, and I will be at Harrisonburg. Fairfax is no, Fredricksburg is maybe, Warrenton and the Beach are no.
 
ima b at fairfax and hopefully warrenton. i prolly would go to fredricksburg if it was on sat not sunday
 
oh, I've to to remember to make that announcement at league today. Hope I remember the website address. :redface:
 
im going to try to get to all of them if possible but i know 100% for sure ill be at Midlothian. I live in Lynchburg so we don't have much going on here.
 
My new Warsaw league meets on SUNDAYS :/

So, I'll probably be at the Saturday ones.

I'll need to arrange with my league so I can be gone to Judge at Midlo though.......

Other than that, it's Sat. only for me :/

Hey Alex, I believe I will be going to VA Beach to judge.

Midlo is too close to the opening of the Warsaw league, so I switched up.
It's not the same as playing against you, but at least I'll be there :)
 
I'm an art student, homework probably includes a large piece of illustration board, and paint. :\ that plus money is real tight, gas tank is going to need a refilling soon, I have a credit card bill to pay, and parents are too broke right now to give me money. so... yeah.

I'm lucky I'm even going to the one in Midlothian.

I'll have a suckish deck most likely, but I'll be there, tournaments are getting a lot closer. (Warrenton and Harisonburg are BOTH only about 40 minutes away. :D)

Of course, you probably all hate me, so this is more likely bad news than good news, but you'll get over it. :)
 
We were up north today, so I swung by the Fredericksburg store "GAMERZ: Character Vaults"

It's a pretty decent store. Think GameParlor without all of the tables in the back.
The store is a little bigger than Battle City Games.

The owner was at the register and this dude was REALLY CHILL and personable.

He told me that he just took over in November and is trying to grow the Pokemon thing there.
He says there's a college crowd that has migrated into Pokemon league there; they have league there for an entire year already ! (really??)

Angelica picked out a comic and I got a pack of Stormfront just to show a little support.

So, you guys can rest assured that your Fredericksburg BRs there will be cool.

Ah, well, that's okay.

I'll just have to wait until CC's to play you then... which I will try to be at all of, for the 2nd year in a row.

Pramawat doesn't post here much, neither does Dave and I don't know about LJ.

My guess would be Pramawat showing up, I doubt LJ and Dave would come down for a BR.

Just a guess though.
