Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Virginia's Mysterious Treasures Prerelease Weekend--8/11 & 8/12

No, states still wins (93) last year at GP. But this was regi-gigantic for a pre. I guess I should tell everone that the cutoff of 32 for today is EXACTLY the number of sleeve sets/promos that we have left. So, if we have extra seating (admitedly unlikely) it may be that the old "while supplies last" clause may affect whether you get the extra stuff. Bottom line--call ahead and see if there is still space if you haven't preregistered.

Yeah, I stuck that "while supplies last" thing on all my flyers fearing that you'd run out.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it. I got Javier's message too late anyway, so it didn't really matter, and I decided I was too physically sore to not roll back into bed.

Any good stories from the tournament?

•Well the Sanyers don't need any more Lvl X cards, that's for sure!! Arron pulled 1 in EACH of his part. packs after pulling the third one in his first 6 packs today :thumb: And we ended up exactly with what I'd ordered for...cutting it a bit too close, to be sure, but at least the "while supplies last" thing became irrelevant.
•78 in Fairfax (gulp)
•Maxing out at Richmond's small venue
•Ultra Upaa going 9-0 over two days was pretty awesome, but I'm just a bit biased there.
•Winners in each age group each day received a surprise--the JPN version of the MVP (Most Valuable Pokémon, of course) from their winning deck. (And hey, with a card dex, it'll be tourney legal once the set comes out)
I'll post more tomorrow in my full weekend round up. Right now, it seems like every Pokémon player that was not in Hawaii this weekend was at a Virginia Prerelease! Thanks to all; you guys rock solid--next year maybe we'll ALL party in Orlando!

I realized this recently, I told you my MVP was Maganium, but think about if I said Alakazam because I used him and the Japanese Alakazam is super rare.

Special Thanks to my judges: Tim F and Jav both work their butts off for this game and get very little recognition for all of their efforts. The explosive growth in NoVA of this game is due in very large part to their efforts. Locally, Tim C continues to be always there when I need him to help out in any way. His work with new players especially is outstanding! Thanks of course to my wife Pam who continues to support my PokéMadness. Hope everyone who attended had a blast. Battle Rd info shortly--stay tuned!!

Mr. T.

Many tournament first-timers at Fairfax making the top ranks. Impressive on their parts to grasp the game so quickly.

Lot of players returing to the game as well, as I see they also did in Midlothian. Nick and Rory still play Pokemon?!

I'll look into that possibility.

Locally, Tim C continues to be always there when I need him to help out in any way.
Anytime he wants to judge in my place, tell him I'll do it :thumb::lol:

Thanks of course to my wife Pam
yay Pam!

*after hanging up phone* Why's weird stuff gotta happen to me :frown:. Of course it's one of my leaguers. It's always one of mine, always *sighs*. Why can't weird stuff ever happen to Nick K .

Thanks, Keith--Hope things go well in Tenn! Feel free to post on your threads that Virginia says this is the best set in a while and everybody in Tennessee needs to go to your prereleases on the 18th and the 25th!!!!
(And if any of my players happen to be vacationing in Lawman's areas, check out his events!!!)

Well god tourney, I didn't see any TSD, but I heard some were pulled. The worst thing about that card, is how rare it is, so many people want to play it.

Ror

I ran a GOD tourney!!!!! Well, I'm good, but I don't know if I'm THAT good (blushes humbly) I may have to quote ya on this, though, Ror!!!!
