Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Washington City Championships

just when you think things can't get any better, they do. I can't believe i actually made a cut. sure, i couldn't draw anything and lost in record time, but at least i know that i have a deck that can actually win on a consistant basis. this tournamnet was a great improvement over saturday's. Great job by terry running the tourney with no problems and under time restraints. Hopefully, this tourney is a sign of things to come for the puyallup_phantom.

The real great thing about this tournment were the number of new younger players. A young couple showed up during registration with their two sons, both ten and under. Their decks had unlimited style older cards. I sent them to two trusty Deck Doctors to help them with their decks. Allen H and Ted B helped put together legal modified decks using pokemon and trainers donated by previous pokeman players.

Anyway P. S., the younger of the two brothers lost his first two matches. He was informed of the available options to play by the judges, but was not instructed how to play. Anyway, after losing his first two matches, he wanted to stop playing. His family went to lunch and they returned convincing their son to play. In the third round, he played his older brother. His older brother took the first four or so prizes but then ran out of energy. P.S. slowly attacked and won the game. It boosted his confidence to play on. In the fourth round P.S. played and eeked out a win. Now 2-2 in the 10 under age group, if he won his last match and the right persons lost, he would make the top 4 cut to finals.........Sure enough, PS eeks out a win in the last round and the right other players lose and HE MAKES THE CUT TO THE FINAL FOUR!!!!!!!!! THIS WAS HIS FIRST TOURNAMENT!!!!!!!!!

His deck was a total rogue deck....6 trainers, 20 + energies and the rest pokemon....

Well he did put a good fight but lost in the semi finals to the No. 1 seed.....anyhow HE DID GREAT and his parents were very EXCITED for him...............This is what the game is all about....ya hoo....ya hoo...

Thanks to the new younger players...Cobi, Kristen, Leslie, Jamey, Joe, PS and his brother, Cameron, Emma and all the others.......................

I'm not sure if you would call me a "trusty" deck doctor. I mean, this was the first time I helped someone build a deck on the spur of the moment like this. It was fun though and I would be willing to do it again if I need to. Anyway, I had a good time, since I actually made a cut this time, lol. Next time, I'm going all the way.

And to everyone who looked at my deck over the weekend and said, "You're using Rocket's Raikou ex? its horrible!" Well, can't be that bad if it made the cut at a tournament.

well for everyone that goes 0-3 drop, aka YOU, it can be over by 4.

Sorry I had to say that, I was sorta hoping lucas would ask though :p

Anyway Id assume there will be 5 rounds so lets just say 3 hours, Then a cut to Top 4 with 1 hour rounds. Thatll be another 2 and a half hours. We'll start at probably around 2:30-3. Gotta add a lunch break too

so id say we'll be done around 9:00ish?

That nice kid who's always trying to get Sarah to do "Scary Face". It was fun to watch one of the nice kids win!!!!

Please don't ask me to tell what types of decks they were using, because I am at work, and I am so tired I honestly hardly remember what happened yesterday!!!

Extra Special THANKS to Ted for helping out, and to Brian (store owner) for allowing us to use his store as our venue.

Have a great day!

Phillip B.? 11-14? Hmmm... I do hope there is another Phillip besides the one I'm thinking of or else there's a BIG mistake. And OMFG Greg won!!! To bad Debster couldn't do it. Maybe next time.

If you think you have a hard time telling them apart, think how I feel. ALPHILJOSCHRS..........whoever you are get the heck over here!!!!! No worries Penny, we all had a great time, except for the minor bloodshed. Thanks for hosting a great event.

Sounds like things went well..........

Thanks Penny for hosting the event.....Looking forward to Pre Releases....

btw...Did Nikolas have a father named Steve???

Sounds like it was an interesting day up at Mukilteo. Too bad I couldn't go, but my mom wanted me to stay home, so that was the beginning and end of that conversation. Anyway, catch everyone later.

Well, greg, you earned that one. I'll just make sure not to have all my search prized next time I try to take a medal.
