Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Washington State Championships March 14, 2009

States was awesome! Despite my relatively crappy record that was the most fun I've ever had at a tournament. :) Egyptian Massacre/War/Rat Sc(k?)rew was funnnn. :D Thanks to everyone who made this tournament happen, even the 40+ minute "intermitence" around the middle was great, seriously.

I'm sorry to those people who I borrowed stuff from, my parents had me leave relatively abruptly so I didn't return them. I expect most of you will be at Or-ee-gon so I hope I can just give them back to you guys then.

Well I am exhausted but the tournement was FANTASTIC!! (Even though I lost to BDS for the 2nd year in a row at Washington States) Sarah went 2-4, Penny went 4-2 and I went 6-1 so it we all had a blast.

It was so nice to see so many Oregon players particapte. I hope you all had an enjoyable time, and we are looking foreward to seeing you again next week in Salem.

PS Our league had 2 masters players and 2 juniors top cut so way to go Phoenix Games!!

1st Steven Wetherbee (idk how to spell)(AMU)
2nd was Keegan Cox (AMU)
3rd Jason ??? (AMU)
Seniors
1st Stephen Roberto(G)
2nd David Cohen (Kingdra?)
3rd I think Zane Nelson with Blastcatty
Juniors
1st Lily He (Machamp)
2nd Ian Whiton? (G)
3rd I have no clue

I would have continued ( and probably won) had i not dropped due to my mental health.
I had got no sleep and i was so tired i was having mini sleeps(its where your brain stops doing the activity it is doing and stops for 10 to 15 seconds and "sleeps") So i could not pay attention and wanted to just go to sleep. so i folded.
oh well. I got a palkia G lv.x in my 4 pax. and i had fun. so it was worth going and not staying home.

Grats Ian!

Wow.. top 2 didn't start till 10pm? That's ridiculous for the little ones.
Terry and crew did a fantastic job given the fact that they had a computer crash after round 4 and had to run Juniors and Seniors manually for the last 2 rounds. If you've ever had to run even a small event manually, let alone one with over 100 players to pair, I think you'd agree that it is amazing that they pulled it off by 10:00. The players, even in Juniors were seasoned veterans and I doubt it caused them much distress.

so oregon took 1sr and 3rd in the masters?

Actually Team Ore-eee-gone took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Masters . Thanks to the WA judges and TO(s) for putting on a great tourney. We're looking forward to a large contingent of WA players in OR next week.

Where exactly did I assign blame to the TOs? Oh that's right, nowhere.

My comment was purely a factual statement centered around the fact that being awake for 17+ hours for kids that are 8 years old is ridiculous.

... and where in my post do you see me accusing you of blaming anyone. You made a statement and I did as well. My post was mearly meant to provide the readers with a bit more information, and if you interpreted it as me calling you out then I apologize. Your opinion may be that it is ridiculos, but my opinion, and I was there to see the finals match, is that the players were pretty happy and given the circumstances it isn't ridiculos - IT'S POKEMON!!! imho

Uggg. All thoes AMU decks in the top cut I draw T-tar, LOL Good job to all the Oregon players who did so well this year. Washington will be down in force to try to seek our revenge for the theft of two of our 1st place Trophys :)

It was a FANTASTIC tournament! (The Drive home wasn't so hot, but it was way worth it!) Thanks to all
the Washington TO's up there for getting through the computer problems and getting the tournament
done! It was just too much fun to even THINK of missing next weekends!

It was a cool tournament though! I went 5-1 in swiss with just a kingdra donk against me. In the finals,
I beat my first two opponenets in the 2 out of 3 matches without either of them drawing a single prize card!!
That's dominance.. the poor Washington Players didn't see it comin!!! I did get routed by Stephan
and his Mewtwo X though, and congrats to him for winning another big tournament.

Can't wait to see you guys at Oregon States, I don't plan on letting a Washinton Player beat ME to a Oregon
Title...(Even though those top 3 lovely Washtington trophies must love the nicer weather here in Oregon!!)
