Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Werewolf Issue Resolution

I've been thinking on something, and I'd like to put out a suggestion before the next games starts.

The last few games have gone to factions that are not townie, mostly because of the disorder that they've been able to stir among the townies. If you think about it, townies don't have a super huge chance of winning. They do not know who is their enemies, so even their number is not a benefit, for they end up lynching more townies than any other faction.
I believe that we should give them a bit more information, through updates. I do not think that an update should contain all the happenings of a night, but should still give a tiny bit of information, so that townies can use it to try and find their allies. I do not believe that they should depend on the updates, such as we did mostly in AT's last game, but I do think that it should be a small source of information.

I do NOT like games where the host gives more information than necessary to the town, as it makes it much harder for the anti-town factions to hide. Aim to improve your own scumhunting skills. Also, do not be afraid to lynch early, especially if you're town. The game should be designed to give the town a fair amount of mislynches, so go for it! Don't wait until it's MYLO to seriously scumhunt! By watching people's flips, you should have a better idea of who's town and who's not. I'd point to the last thread, but that's a lot of posts, and my eyes can't handle it right now.

Yeah, now I'm getting what you all are saying. So I'll take your advice, and work to not depend on the updates and information roles, and use my own skills. Thanks for being patient with me.

I've been super busy with moving home, setting up a new computer and working on stuff related to my future. This weekend (starting today) I'm going to finish writing the game. My plan is to have it done by Sunday, reviewed by next Sunday, and have the thread posted by Monday. This is a goal, not a guarantee. I will update as I progress.

Ahem. *cough*youthankedthis*cough*

He said it would probably be up by Monday the 26th (if you do the math). When that date comes and passes, then you should ask for more updates. Until then, just sit tight.

The best solution to that is stop with all the vet reverence and use deductive reasoning. Take each game as a new game, since it is, and use your head. You can't fully trust what any player says in thread, just like as if you were on a reality show like Big Brother. The biggest downfall of the town has been lazy townies sheeping more experienced players instead of going back in thread to draw your own conclusions.

Until this changes in our meta on PokeGym, anyone clearly sheeping should earn a policy lynch.

+1 Think for yourself, trust NOBODY, vote with your head.

Um, cabd, I have a feeling that you're taking it a little far. Trust no one? If you do that, how are you supposed to get the trust of others? Without that trust, you might end up getting policy lynched yourself.

No. I was quite correct. The only people you should trust 100% are yourself and the ones that died and flipped town if you're town, and only yourself and your wolf mates if scum.

I think what he means is, in case his last post didn't make it clear, don't ever trust anyone to be town and never doubt them. You can assume people are probably town, but don't discount anyone as being a wolf or something else unless they're dead or your role has some stipulation where you can investigate a player and *never* be wrong.

Bingo. The only 100% townie read from a VT can be on a dead player.

I have a feeling that you take this game with a little bit more drama than it deserves, and a little bit less forethought and analysis than it demands.

Think of it this way. When you're reading someone's posts, try not to act based on what they said, but rather, why they would say that.

It's not always helpful (early in the game everyone just wants to look active, for example), but this sort of thinking prepares you for more analytic and thoughtful gameplay, and may help you better communicate your own thoughts if you double- and triple-check that your intent is perfectly clear (...or hidden...) in your own posts.

There is a lot of good information here. I like how you guys are dissecting strategy. Good job.

I'd normally say that this isn't the correct place to discuss this, but since the other thread has run its course I see no reason to stop you all. Keep up the analysis and discussion!

Fwiw, I've been playing off site some. Turns out I'm better at scum than town, whatdyaknow.

I'd link it but it's VERY not pg-13. Look up Mafiascum newbie game 1367 for the read.

I've had a bit of a situation/emergency crop up. It takes precedence over Werewolf. If I can resolve everything by the end of this week, the sign-up thread will show up no later than Saturday June 1st. If I am unable to resolve my current situation I will do one of two things.

1.) Still host a game, but a very simple and basic game.
OR
2.) Hand this game over to whoever is next in line

Which I choose depends on my current situation and how it unfolds. In the past I've had my games ready before the previous game was over. Unfortunately I was unable to do so this time. This also brings up concerns on whether I will be able to commit myself to a full game as lack of time for things such as updates have hurt me in the past. Rest assured I will have everything figured out by the end of next week, or I will hand the game over to someone else.

Thank you for your patience

^Do whatever you feel you have to, nobody can blame you for doing what you feel is best. I hope everything clears up for the best.

RL comes first. I hope everything works out!

(this will also give me time to figure out whether or not I'll be healthy enough to play; I had to sub out of another game due to my body being weird)

Sign-up thread will be up at Noon Central Time tomorrow

If this is a problem because of your timezone (If my math is right this is like 6 AM Australian time) let me know your location and timezone and what time noon central is equivalent too for you and I'll handle things from there.

Thanks
