Werewolf XIV: Team Rocket's Trap - TOWN WINS

Good job Clones and Victory Bell for talking your way out of that though..

Yeah...i played dumb toward the end. If i had let benson die, and if chanman lynched another townie, the clones could have won.

But because mewtwo was dead, i was unable to communicate with my other half.

Wow what a fun game! Thank you LEX for running a great game.

I know this was my first ww game game so I was curious to ask about my decision on day two. Considering I was a ww noob and what appeared to be a vanilla towne, I decided to try to rally for Gator's vote. I was trying to put myself out there as a meat shield for the "roled" townies to give them a free night. I was hoping the wolves would have thought I had reason to keep him around and I had some type of role which i might benefit for him. I thought this would be a considered a noob mistake (inadvertent reveal of a link or role) thus putting a huge target on my back. I'm not sure if that was the wolves logic here but in my warped logic kinda worked. I'm not sure if it's ever a good idea for even vanilla townies to sacrifice themselves for the "good" of the town like that.

I would love to play again and your critic would be beneficial. I understand if public critic is not a norm. A pm would also be appreciated if you have the time.

Again, I would like to reiterate what a great time this was and to say thank you to everyone who played to make this the experience it was!

In all my experience outside of this game, it seems like it's pretty much a consensus that vanilla townies should take bolder moves than power roles so that the power roles don't have to put a target on their backs. If the vanilla townies are giving the wolves a hard time, they'll naturally want to get rid of them, and they probably won't have any other choice if a power role hasn't been outed one way or another.

I've noticed, though, that soft-claiming vanilla is generally viewed with the opposite opinion. If the wolves pick up on the fact that you're playing as a transparent vanilla townie, you've narrowed down the candidates for the power roles by one person, thus bettering the wolves's chances at find a power role.

Amazing game, everyone. Was an absolute blast to watch. Of course, kudos to LEX for making such an epic adventure and stuff like that.

Awesome game that was so much fun to play. Thanks so much LEX for your dedication and hard-work and the great storyline.

So what happened in the last few days with the clones, was the game just going to continue with the Town Lynching and/or Lance killing until either the clones died or everyone else died? Cause the clones really couldn't do much huh.

Guess I was pretty wrong with about JF after all. You did play a really good game though, making generally good choices with your role. You then backed your story up well, I'm a pretty stubborn person, and you almost convinced me so good job.

I too would like to know if any of the vanillas could have gotten any extra abilities. I decided to play a slightly more outgoing game because my role didn't really allow me to help the town in any other way.

Also, how and why did Will join the wolves and what was the XXX'd out text in Giovanni's role?

Ah, that was my role.

My role said that there was another wolf out amongst the townies. We didn't know who he was, but he knew who we were. At any time during the game I (or whoever had the role passed down to them) could choose to recruit him. So long as he wasn't an official wolf however, he had a psuedo seer role to see the character name of any player he wished. Once we recruited him, he lost that role. So we decided to not recruit him right off the back.

That player was me. I went for three nights before becoming recruited, by which time I had not accrued many names at all. I found out night 1 that waynegg was Steven Stone, I figured this would have been a safe bet later on in the game, and when the time came to fake my role, I learned that Kayle had already went for it himself. So yeah, I was shot down pretty quickly after that. :p

It was a well played game in general by all players, let me just say I should have been lynched much quicker than I was, the first day when I accrued suspicion was the day I should have been lynched, but I was able to lie my way out of it. Which I guess teaches you a valuable lesson: believe the facts, not what people tell you. I was pretty much pulling stuff out of everywhere after that day.

It was an awesome game, can't think of any negative points to it. It was the longest and closest game for me for sure.

I really didn't follow the game much after I was out, but I enjoyed it thoroughly while it lasted.

Well, I had been trying to write a big analysis of each player's strategy and decisions, but I'm really sorry to say that I don't have time.

The game would have just continued until one side was eliminated.

There were items that could have been available if certain things happened - if the Seer was lynched within the first 3 days, one town-aligned player would have received Lucian's Notebook, listing his targets and results. If the Priest was lynched within the first 3 days, one town-aligned player would have gotten Anabel's Charm, preventing the wolves from killing them once. If Red had died while any of his abilities were unused, any player could have received one of his Pokemon, with the same ability. Those were the only extra abilities the vanillas could have gotten.

Will could be recruited during any phase, and would join the wolves at the end of that phase. The XXX'd out text was the information about Will. Kayle was partially informed of it after that. With each Alpha killed, the information given to the next one about Will would have decreased.

What did the “You have no powers at this time” roles do? Where they just Vanilla Roles, or was there more to them?

They were only vanillas. The "no powers at this time" wording was to hide Silver's kill immunity, and because of items.

Also, no one asked about this, but there was a certain order in which the wolves were promoted to Alpha. It was Giovanni > Archer > Ariana > Petrel > Proton > Domino > Will.

Thanks so much for playing, everyone, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the game.
