OK, So I lied. I'm posting the update before the afternoon. But I don't see how I'll be able to post it from work...
Night time crept upon the castle slowly and the daylight slowly flickered away. Not much happened since the death of Dave628. The mood was quite somber, and most people passed the time taking food from the kitchen and finding a good place to sleep for the night. Finally, the only light left in the room was the glimmer from the flickering firelight of the chandeliers over head. Closer inspection revealed a Chandelure buzzing about its business dreamily, floating around in the chandeliers but also keeping an eye on someone.
Out of the corner of its eye, Chandelure noticed a small silhouette peer out from under a larger coffee table near a corner of the room close to the exit. The shadow rolled out from under cover and took cover behind a particularly colorful sky-blue couch. Her gaze quickly swept the grounds for signs of disturbance, but was met with only the occasional snore and movement of chests rising and falling. Not fully trusting the dim light, she groped her way to the near wall and began to edge along the side, whilst treading as softly as possible. With the door about 5 meters away, a gust of wind alerted the shadow to a presence behind her. She whipped around, ready to dive out of the way. Frozen in place, she strained her ears for a sound, but could only make out some strange whistling noise.
“I must be going insane”, whispered Iris.
She once again peered around, squinting, to locate the source of the noise, but it was gone as quickly as it came. Or was it even there to begin with, she pondered.
Iris turned back around to continue padding her way to the left-side door only to take a jump back in another moment of fear. The wooden door loomed in front of her and the steel braces gave it an ominous presence in the flickering light. Iris gripped the handle tightly, sweat pouring down her hands, and turned it slowly. The door was considerably lighter than it appeared and opened readily, revealing a corridor lit by the periodic torch. A red and rug, patterned with criss-crossing lines, ran down the hall and Iris picked a path for the room she was confident would hold Drayden, her mentor.
…
One robed man also had investigation to get underway that night, and he meditated serenely in his bedroom, contemplating something unseen. The bedroom was well furnished and fairly modern. There was electric lighting in the ceiling, and one of the two lights half-heartedly flashed on and off, clearly in need of a replacement bulb. The man stood up suddenly from the edge of his king sized bed, and faced the mirror at the foot. Reflected in the mirror was the tall and dusty oak wardrobe with some cheap designs carved into it that would appear intricate to an untrained eye.
The man adjusted his gray hat and opened the door leading out into the hallway. Stepping out with an air of purpose, he exited to his right and walked up to a bend in the hallway. He grasped his staff with his left hand, using his right to pull a poké ball from his robes and release a … Woobat! The pokémon fluttered about before perching on his shoulder and accepting some whispered commands. Woobat swirled around him, causing his long silver hair to swish about mildly, before flying around the corner towards some destination.
…
Back in the main room, the petite silhouette had just stepped through the hallway door and closed it with a “CreeeeeaaaAAAAaAAEEEeeeEEeeekkkkk” that continued even after the door closed behind her. Grinning, a figure stepped out from behind a tapestry on the wall and quickly dashed for the door. He paused to peer over his shoulder as he wrapped his fingers around the doorknob.
“PEW!”
A red ball of light sailed across the room and hit the man square in the back. His eyes widened and then narrowed into a look of hate as he failed to locate the source of the light.
“Freak! I'll find you!”
He fell to the ground, stunned. He lay there, his hand still reaching for the door but unable to move as he contemplated his fate. It wasn't too bad: all that was hurt was his pride. All was quiet for a few minutes. Or was it an hour? He pondered how long he had been frozen there and how long he would remain paralyzed when movement caught his eye...
A large beast was falling down on him, fangs bared. He braced himself for the impact, fighting to overcome the paralyzing hold of the light, but still the pokémon latched onto his armor and delivered a large electric shock. The paralysis provided some temporary resistance to pain, but he still swore loudly, drawing some rustling in response from the sleeping bags in the room.
…
Iris was blinded by the relatively powerful light of the hallway. She placed a hand of her eyes and stumbled forward. Her vision was cloudy, and she stopped to rub her eyes...A faint swooshing sound drew her back into reality and she ducked into a shadowy corner, putting her back to the door. A click could be heard down the carpeted hallway, and an absurdly dressed man stepped into view, flanked by two men wearing all black, even over their faces. They stepped with purpose and proceeded in Iris's direction. The man dressed in absurd robes, decorated to seem as eyes, looked directly at her and smiled.
“Ah!, Iris let out an involuntary gasp and was paralyzed by fear yet again. The man continued walking closer and closer. Iris was still barely able to move, but turned over her shoulder to see the plated wooden door right next to her. She reached for the handle but could not seem to find it. Panicking, she turned to it and was met with a stone wall. She whipped back around, but was surprised. The man and his grim guard had halted outside the door nearest to her on the left side of the hall. One of the two cloaked men stood back and swung his body around, aiming a kick dead center of the door. The white wooden door splintered and the robed man wasted no time in forcing his way through to see...
Well, Iris never knew what she saw. But the scream that echoed from the room was nothing more than primal. Ghetsis was furious.
“It WILL be mine! None of you ants are going to stop me! Iris could hear the vibrations in the floor as Ghetsis stormed out of the room, purple and gold robes glistening as he stampeded down the hall. His guards accompanied him, walking quickly to keep pace with him.
Finally free from the crippling fear, Iris arose. Her mission must continue. She edged her way to the crumpled door frame and cautiously peeked around into the room...
“INCINERATE”
A burst of flame, erupting in a cone washed over Iris before she could fully take in what she was seeing. She fell to the ground, immediately dead. The door could once again be heard opening and closing. A slight beam of crimson light indicated that a pokémon had been recalled.
…
Woobat left the air ventilation duct it had perched in and swooped back down the hall to the tall man wearing a pointed gray hat. Woobat issued a playful shriek and disappeared with into yet another red beam. The man nodded his approval and turned around to realize he was face to face with Team Plasma.
“I knew you would come for me. I could sense your coming.”
A man wearing a standard Team Plasma uniform of black pants with a white overdress and silver hood grinned widely in response.
“Who cares, Gandalf? Your magic is not as powerful here. Make this easier on yourself and surrender.”
Gandalf lowered his head in response but remained silent. The grunt sneered and a look of uncertainty replaced his grin.
“Your staff then. Give me your staff.”
The gray clad figure extended his staff out and another Team Plasma member moved forward to claim it. Without looking up, Gandalf raised the wooden staff over his head. Team Plasma responded instinctively, drawing weapond and poké balls.
“THUD!”
Gandalf slammed his staff into the goldenrod carpet and flames erupted outward, clinging to the walls and traveling along them like water would on skin. Team Plasma, caught off guard, dropped a few poké balls to the ground as they struggled to avoid the oncoming lashing of orange. The flames rolled past them and they quickly regained a formation. Gandalf muttered a soft word and the leading grunt keeled over, suffering from severe burns that only he could see and feel. Hallucinating, he fell to the ground crippled.
One of Ghetsis's elite guard joined the fight, leaping from the flank towards the wizard. Gandalf raised his staff in silent retort. The black clad figure collided with mid air and flailed to the ground, hopelessly off balance. Swiftly focusing back on the Team Plasma squad, Gandalf was too slow to dodge a gunk-shot attack from a Garbodor that had been released. He grunted in pain and backed up into the stone wall. His staff homed in on Team Plasma and a circle of fire flared up underneath their formation. The grunts scattered and dove in various directions to avoid the pillar of fire. A split second later, a ring of fire erupted from the ground, scorching the ceiling and floor where it had been.
Back on his feet, another member of Team Plasma took aim at Gandalf and “PEW”! He was holding a small handgun with an odd look about it. It seemed to be almost unnecessarily tiny and the effect was somewhat comical. A laser beamed forth from the tip and hit Gandalf's staff. A large crack could be seen running down the center.
The man grinned and Gandalf focused his energy into the destroyed rod. It splintered and the pieces erupted outwards towards Team Plasma, igniting and turning into a hail of deadly flaming spikes. Garbodor responded, expanding itself to take up the blunt of the hallway. The needles all hurtled down the corridor and struck the pokémon in its last stand. It keeled over.
Team Plasma stepped past and formed a semi-circle around the defeated wizard.
“Now Gandalf. I expect you to die!”
A swift blow from the ninja-like assassin knocked out Gandalf. Permanently.
The town awoke the next day to find two people dead. It was only the second day and the outcome was already looking grim. Everyone took some solace in the fact that Ghetsis was denied something important, but the sight of two dead townies kept everyone quite somber. They were:

You are Iris, aspiring gym leader of Opelucid City. You were walking down a narrow staircase, lit on either side by torches. A faint light could be seen at the end of the hallway that grew brighter as you continued to descend. You shielded your eyes as you neared the end of your descent and the bright light faded into a wooden door, laced with iron. Go, Haxorus! Body Slam! Haxorus reared back and then slammed the door head-first. The wood gave way immediately with a satisfying crunch. You peered through the doorway while recalling Haxorus casually. You stepped through into a pitch black room; the only feature you could make out were some straight lines on the floor that appeared to be painted on. Blinding you for the second time, the lights flared on all too fast, leaving you dazed. "Iris. I knew you would be the only one capable of finding me... Before you stood Ghetsis, wearing an old-fashioned royal purple robe and carrying a king's scepter. You did not find a verbal response necessary, and instead summoned Druddigon to your side. "Fine. We shall end this now, Ir-", but Ghetsis was cut off by a rumbling which rapidly grew closer. The walls shook and the lights flickered. You awoke to hear your mentor, Drayden, speaking from the other room: "Ssh! Iris is sleeping. I will go, but she must stay behind." You suffered from momentary sleep paralysis, but quickly rallied yourself and shoved open your window to be greeted by a cold gust. You climbed down quickly and dropped silently into the bushes under your window. A man with slicked back hair had just summoned an Alakazam and indicated that Drayden should place his hand on it. This is it! Team Plasma's invasion has begun! You made way swiftly to the edge of the bush and then broke into a sprint, right towards Alakazam. Drayden looked up to see you and his face showed a split-second of pure shock as you tackled Alakazam and Drayden right over...FWOOSH. You stood in a dark forest, the pokémon league, screams, and shouts calling to you from the distance.
Role: During the night, you may PM me the name of a player. If that player is Drayden, you will reunite with him, forming a mason group and updating your night role.

You are Gandalf the Grey. You do not know perfectly well how you came to be in this world, yet it seems you have always lived here as far as you can remember. Occasionally you dream of a different world, but it is always the same one...middle earth. There is always an evil lord by the name of Sauron who was gathering some army of grotesque creatures to take over the world. Sometimes it seems so real. You occasionally have brief glimmers of flashbacks in which you and he were locked in a magical duel...but you always wake up back in reality.
You have no special powers at this time.
Speech Impediment: You are Gandalf the GREY and therefore must post a color in every post, or change the font color for at least one word every post. Failure to do so will result in a private warning. The second infraction will warrant a public notice. Don't do it three times...
