Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What decks do you expect to win Battle Roads?

The fact that anyone used Gyaradose proves that they weren't thinking ahead. Sorry, but that deck just can't consistently beat Luxray, no matter how you look at it.

Luxray is only really hard if they run Lucario (and only luxape's run lucario)... and even then it's not too hard to beat with stuff like Toxicroak G (I believe Fabien ran it?).

Dragonflys can be a idea, only loss would be luxape/blazeray and even then, just tech in 1-0-1 Exploud for a MUCH more even matchup.

The fact that they made it to Top 16/Top 8 at Worlds proved that they might've thought further ahead then you deem possible.

aww i wanted to yell gyarados ftw but i was beaten to it lol

gyarados was played with sabelye from sf so ...
so ya gyarados and proably cheap knock offs of beedrill and random blaziken decks to beat beedrill then random kingdra decks to counter blaziken lol then it sback to drillray or raybees lol ftw =]

I expect to see (of the new cards):

Blazeray
BlaziBlazi (will probably see Blazitar, but BlaziBlazi will be better)
Electivire FB combos
Major disruption decks (Chatot G, Cyrus', Jirachi)
Garchomp (not only the C, regular Garchomp is amazing)
Venusaur variants
Absol G
New Toolboxes (lots of good SP Pokemon in this set)

BlaziKen is a much better name for double blaziken decks

What? It no more loses to Luxray than Kingdra does. Both have the same amount of HP, same weakness. It's a 2HKO, still. Just because it has Lightning weakness doesn't mean anything. You of ALL people should be the first to consider that with your talk of Palkia beating Luxray.

Not to say Gyarados and Kingdra are similar decks, but their defensive properties are similar (HP/Weakness) and they both pump around the same amount of damage (Though broken up, in Kingdra's case) onto the opponent's field every turn for pretty much no energy.
