Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What's up with WALMART? Do they still sell Pokemon TCG?

Folks, this is a great subject. Let's not get too carried away with things. Let's keep this thread on topic and productive.

OT: My walmart in Westboro, Mass is clearing the shelves of PKMN stuff. Target, however, is picking up the pace.

As I said, I work at the East Greenbush, NY Wal*mart, and they still carry packs there. In fact, I picked up one of the 2 LA + SW + Latias promo packs for ~11ish last night, and ended up pulling SW Venusaur, Froslass RH, and LA Uxie. :thumb:

In other news, the Target (quite literally across the street) also carries Pokemon cards, though they have them in both the front with other cards (though their quantity is diminishing) as well as back with the cards in the toy department.

my walmart in north florida still has hem the only problem i have is there older sets and the section looks like a omb blew up there but my target has all the good stuff and i would go o my local store but they are always out of stock and i never know when they are going to order more

Hunstville Alabama Cleared their shelves right after the platinum Prerelease, i dont see any cards Period. IN MY Honest Opinion... walmart is starting to make the same mistakes that Kmart did back in the 90's, and Sears did in the 80s. There was a time when Kmart was number 1... now look at them. if walmart continues the pace their on, i see Target becoming the biggest and best retail store

I'm actually a Dept. Manager at the Woodburn, Oregon WalMart, and Pokemon cards fall under my jurisdiction, so I could actually be helpful for once!

First off, Crazar is absolutely correct. Just like with soda and most of the candy bars, we get trading cards through an independent vendor (ours is Vintage Sports Cards, inc.). Tony, the vendor for that company, told me that he only comes in roughly once every week, so that might account for some of the store's stocking issues. I should note that we've only had this vendor for a couple of months, so they're still trying to work us into their schedule.

Now, even before I was a manager, I always noticed that we would consistently be out of the most recent set of PKMN. So I suggested to the vendor that they give us double the usual quantity of the most recent set, and more than usual of that weird promo pack thing that retails for around $5 (the one that has the Mothim promo, among others). Hopefully, he can get us some more.

So, yeah, come to the Woodburn Wal-mart in a while. Maybe he listened to me. : )

I live in the Columbus, OH area and the Wal-marts around here (and Target and Meijers) have a good selection of Pokémon - packs, tins, promo sets. In fact, our Walmart, just put out a ton of Pokémon items in the boys department - shirts, swimsuits, etc. So it may be a regional issue as I have read that Wal-mart is quite advanced in tracking sales and inventory. Or perhaps it is a distributor issue. If the local vendors/distributors cannot supply the cards then the store cannot get them to sell.

just piced up 4 promo porygon promos today at my walmart but yet to open the packs the weird thing is they came with 2 packs of platuim and 1 pack of holo phantoms whats with the older stuff?

They do that to get rid of their supply of older packs.
