There's no residency restriction for VGC events, regardless of what level the event is.

Amen. Thank you for that, Mike. I have been waiting for that since my JAA disqualification. Let's make sure I'm not the only Canadian qualifier this year, mm'kay? :D

Well, if you Canadians were as good at battling as us Americans, we might see more of you qualify.

Well you know, it'd be a little easier if we had a tournament in our country ;p

Wasn't the percentage of Canadians who qualified through nats 100% of those who attended? =D

If you had better players, you might be worthy of an event in your country.

I can neither confirm nor deny that there have been no VGC events in Canada because I'm not permitted to enter the country anymore. You guys take your back bacon WAY too seriously up there.

haha if you think we take that seriously, don't even think about touching our maple syrup!
The last offical VGC tournament in Canada was back in 2004 for the Ruby Saffire EX Challenge! Which really was only half a VGC event ;p

That is correct. This info has been around for quite some time, except the article is incorrect - as the battles will use the "Tournament Play" option on Black & White using the infrared on the games.

So Pokemon from #495 - #642 and #645 can be used.
Double Battle
Bring 6, pick 4

And with the "Tournament Play" option, there won't be any preview of your opponent's team like the in-game infared and wifi connection.

Can you be more specific about the error, perhaps? We try to make our articles as accurate as possible, so I'd like the opportunity to fix that soon. Thanks for pointing it out.

"Although the full details of the rulings and qualifiers will be not be available worldwide until Spring 2011, it has been revealed that like previous tournaments, the battles will be conducted with Double Battles using the Flat Battle mode."

The obvious error is that battles are NOT using Double Battle>Flat Battle.
2011 will use the "Tournament Play" option that can be found on the start menu.

"Live Event" is the confirmed English translation, as per Mike Liesik - http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1910810&postcount=10

i'm just hoping more VGC near the NY/NJ area since last year's final regional VGC was overpacked with people and they reached the limit of entries
