That's a LOT of prize support. $33500 for each age group, over 100k on the line in this event. Not including the trips, boxes, and Tropical themed top cut promo cards (speculation: $100 card minimum).

Well, at least we know where OP budget went this year...

Could you tell us why you believe that?

Well, for most players, the fun of events isn't actually playing the game, it's being around friends. With the low numbers of invites this year, you're very unlikely to know many people there, so you'll have less people to hang out with. While the experience might not "suck" as he put it, I can imagine Worlds will be considerably less fun than in the past.

yea, sry about earlier, i was kinda mad at the game as i tend to get often ever since teh rankings system came into effect. The only reason i continue to play the game is for teh friends i've made, as the game itself has become way too competitive. Yes, it woudl be AWESOME to go to Hawaii. But playing Pokémon in Hawaii without your friends? It's liek a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. It's still a good sandwhich with just peanut butter, but it just feels as if somethign is missing. :(

Trust me, I have been to Hawaii 7 times and every time was a new experience ! Missing friends is the last thing you will be thinking once you get there. And by what I have read about the resort you don't have to go anywhere as it has everything!

I can almost here 'pop and the Gang now....>FORE!!!!!! Geeeezzz and only 2 golf courses to chose from.... I think if anyone was in the right mind you may want to book a few extra days......or weeks as it is a awesome time there.

Where would we be without Malta?
No malt for our shakes, that's where!

Where would we be without Ecuador?
Nothing to hold up the Earth's pants, that's where!

I don't get any of these jokes... dangit

well Hawaii is O.K! but the few invites this year, do the ranking invites get the trip also?

Somehow, i don't think that was the point he was trying to make Pop ;)

Belguium nats: 29 players!

Austrain nats: 34 players ! ( entire event for both btw :(

And a trip for the winners? Wow, stiff stuff! Might be time to move........... lol

No worries though- I'm sure Malta and Ecuador will pull huge #'s
w/ the solid player bases they certainly have ( notes sarcasm).

One more thing, i agree w/ Vince. 5 "at large" invites for Japan seems
extremely low for a country w/ more players than we have. But there
not complaining so neither am I. They will pwn the grinder anyways imho.

No point in complaining- the decision has been made. I respect PUI'S decision
( even if i don't totally agree
about invite distribution) and I apologize for
any comments suggesting otherwise.

You don't kill the messenger just because you dislike the message. I did that this week
and i'm sorry.

Worlds is gonna be amazing- i just hope we can be there to enjoy it.

By the way, the person from Malta was maybe in T32 last year. Don't knock people you don't know.

And with new countries comes new friends and women!! lol Really the trip to Hawaii itself is something to brag about. I know grown adults that haven't been and to tell them you are going because of a 'kids' game. Looks on their face : Priceless.
