Dav has said before that Worlds are planned 2 years in advance, so it is feasible that PUI has already determined the location, date, and number of participants in Worlds 08. (Morpheus)

Makes sense.

But why wait to announce the location of the next two Worlds if they already know? Having two year's notice seems like a good thing. Advance notice of such a prestigious event (even 2 years away) would definitely stimulate interest for the new location. Long range marketing can't hurt.
 
Knowing where you want to hold worlds 2008 and having everything in place to make an annoucement are different.
 
i think 08 deserves to be in Japan.
i could wish to be in Brazil, but wouldnt be nice traveling inside my own country, specially cuz it would be in Sao Paulo, or maybe in my city.
Maybe somewhere in western europe, like germany or france could be nice, since it would be easier for europeans to go.
Japan is too far for the whole world, and probably would be STUPIDLY expensive paying 60+ trips to japan, and we may think that from america to japan its about 30 hours flying, we would arrive really tired from the trip.
 
I know in another thread David stated that it's getting smaller to become more mobile.

Got me to thinking....

Cruise ships are mobile.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but wouldn't it be fun!

Tego told Norway that World 07 or 08 was gonna be here in Norway, long north in the Europe place, but that was on April 1 =/

I agree Chicago would be great...but odds are they will probably make that a later option. Still it would be nice to see Worlds in the Windy City...

2008: Japan
2009: Germany
2010: America
2011: China
2012: Australia

this is probably completely wrong, knowing POP it will be in america forever

Understood. For such events, though, there is likely quite some time when the verification of which place it is to be held, if not every other detail, is known many months earlier than just one year ahead of time. Thought it might be worth putting up to see if others also prefer an earliest possible notification.

Guys, stop and think for a moment. Grinders are gone. If they hold it in Japan or the UK, where there is a lot of competitive play, a lot of people who could go for the fact of living nearby would miss out becuase of no grinders. The solution? Have it in an ideal Vacation spot that has little competitive play. That way a lot of people will enter regionals, the new battle roads, states, and Nationals (Still and open event).
That means people buying more boxes and packs for their decks that they can hope win worlds. That means profit might increase. With that being said My guesses include:

Hungary
China
Papua New Guinea
Venezuela
Finland
Egypt
Costa Rica
Jamaica
Thailand
Bulgaria
Greece
Aruba
Korea

Americans cant go to Cuba.
 
I believe that the order should be something like this

Japan
Europe - Norway
Europe - Britian
Australia
South America - Brazil
North America - Canada or Mexico

etc

So there is little competative play in Finland? They just brought us a World Champion, he didn't grow out of nothing.
