Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds first day is single elimination?

Just doing the math in my head based on NoPoke's chart,

ID's should make 13 points the cut off.

But only for three players...

And single elimination may not be accurate, but I would not advise losing twice....

Double elimination may be more accurate!

5-2 May get you to the 32 (starting at 128) 4-3 will not!!!

I can just see a lot of 5-1-1 players sealing their own fate!

YAY Math time...

If there are 128 people, and 7 rounds, then (with no draws) the top 32 will be:

1 7-0
7 6-1
21 5-2
3 4-3 players

Given this era of draws, more likely it will be

2 players at 6-0-1
12 players at 5-1-1
15 players at 5-2
3 players at 4-2-1 somewhere during the day having picked up a draw (or being bold enough at 4-2 to take a draw)

given this (proper) scenario, there will be 7 5-2 players who miss the cut to 32, due to tiebreakers.

That will be interesting....train your players... 5 wins is in!!!

Huh? How could there be any 5-2's not in if there if there are 4-2-1 who are in?

Meganium, you have a lot of faith in Hagrid23.

I cant wait to meet ya at worlds

5-2 will most definately make it
unless there is an insane amount of 5-1-1

so shoot for 5-1-1

I don't think 4-2-1 has a chance

*coughs*

If you haven't gotten the hint from the posts that have been mysteriously disappearing, I'd strongly suggest that Whicker, Venom and Fat Kid take the back-and-forth conversation to AIM or PM or email, and stop spamming up the boards with it...:nonono:

Back on topic, please...

Dont be so hasty about that. I saw a few 4-2's move into top 16 at the ECSC and that was a 67 person tournament so unless there are alot of ID's at the last round expect to see atleast 2 4-2's getting into the 32 cut.

So if you are #1 with a record of 7-0 at the end of the regular swiss rounds and then lose in the Top 32 single elimination best 2 out of 3, you are done and cant play on Sunday?

basically yeah. you just get bragging rights about getting 1st seed ;p

You are done paying in the Main Worlds tournament, but there will be other side events that you can play in on Sunday like a FR/LG Prerelease tournament and other stuff.

Is it 90 min. for single elimanation on top 32 ?

Whicker said:
it will probably be an hour
but I hope not

I ran 90 min for the Payoffs at my Gym and it just seem to take to long. At the West Stadium we ran with 60 minutes for the payoffs, and it seemed to work great. I know that the East and South Stadiums also had 60 min playoffs and it seemed to work fine. So Im pretty sure the playoffs for Worlds will be 60 minutes.

The word we got from Professor Dav at the SSC was 90 minutes per round. With a lunch break that will put the Finals ending aroud 5:00 with the Awards ceremony at 6:00.
