That reminds me, i (Or someone else with more authority.) Want to set up some sort of way for pokegym members to meet eachother. Maybe a booth or something? Is anyone planning this kind of thing?

Maybe nametags would be a good idea.
Would there be an interest in shirts?

Yeah, some pokegym t-shirts and give out nametags for screennames, that would be cool

 Thanks to SD Pokemom I just remembered that i stayed at that hotel with: Mike shaeffer and 2 former pokemon players when the WCSTS was at the convention center years ago. I remember because i was gonna take a free room with a buddy next store where the winners were staying but took the option of keeping a promise to a buddy and paying for the room with him and tom hanely instead. That is a very nice hotel in san diego and great location because there is a small restaurant just 1 mile down with awesome food. I went to eat there with johhnyblaze and a few oters the night after the WCSTS. Also in town is a small supermarker and a 7-11 so there is places to get food in late night :thumb:

I also remember that year because it was the year there was a fire at the hotel where the winners stayed and evryone was evacuated. They ahs firetrucks there and camera crews. it was crazy but luckully it was the last night so all who were moved out of the hotel and booked in another hotel either were going to the airport or had an easy time moving. It was a memorable time for all players who were there and experienced it and it go alot of buzz here after it happened. It was the last time i saw professor john maple and pokemon legend tom hanely at a pokemon event to

I will vouch from personal experience if you make it there expect a great time in san diego and a nice experience at the hotel its at. In san diego in august its like florida. Hot all day long so expect to bring some sunscreen and something to cool down with

Ill be there this eyar and looking forward to see how it will be at the world championships 2005. See ya all in 8 months and 8 days

Dont worry. I remember the entire situation
I'm confused; was there something _funny_ about the reason I wasn't able to participate in Worlds last year?

FF095, the 'convention center' being used for Worlds is NOT the one downtown where WCSTS was; the Town and Country Hotel complex has it's own convention center, which is in a completely different area of town (Mission Valley)...

'mom

I called the hotel.

They said a double is $139 per night. I talked to a nice lady in Group Sales who said that early next month they will have a discount rate for those attending Worlds, $134 for a double. Small discount but five bucks is five bucks.

Since I'm not planning to drive this time I will probably break my tradition of staying nearby to save a few bucks and actually stay on-site.

oh well ....I was hoping the worlds would be closer..like in the West or North East....I guest I have to wait for next year.=(..I'm alway hitting even in the placing in the trounments and making the Top in 15+ where I live ..it's like your hopeing your home town football Team making to the SuperBall this year(( and that's very rare to me))..LOL..Man! I wish.. I was 14 its much easyer level over here then 15+ ^.^ ...Anyway ..Good Luck to those who makes it the Worlds.and Have Fun..I'm hopeing some of my Team manber makes it this year ..like last year..^.^

Just for a reminder:

Its January 11th and the town+country resort and suites have not yet gotten the world championships in thier system so dont set reservations yet. Once its there they will have a set rate for thier rooms. Right now its $149 per room.

They said by the end of the week they should have the event

1. I took off the lol smily incase you were offended.
2. No, you're situation wasnt anything funny. Infact, I think it is good to know that you put your family before the game.
3. It had to do with a few "comments" that were made. The reason I put the lol smily in there was because I laugh at how certain members reacted towards the loss against a Japanese player, who won with a deck that we never even thought of.

It just goes to show that we should be more open-minded about original decks rather than saying stuff which translates into "OMG! Blaze ex will Pwnxorz your s0u1 !!!!11!!!!"

I wouldn't do that that if i were you, last time i spent the night at Matt's i woke up with a lump on my head and i was wearing bike shorts.

My place has some nice beds in the basement, they're a bit damp though.. and moldy.. and mouse infested..

I'll host a tournament! First place gets to stay in my room.

The SD Zoo and Sea World and Wild Animal Park are there...

Shopping, relaxing and getting ready for Worlds...

I got 2 parking tickets in La Jolla last time. That was $70 worth of fun right there. :-/
