Frankly, I just don't see why Fairy should get its own type when we have so many types that go unrepresented. Why can an ice pokemon do double damage to a fire type? Why does a Hitmonchan do double damage to a Pikachu? Why does a Golbat do double damage to Blastoise? why does my Pidgeot NOT do double damage to a Weedle?
If we're relying on video game logic, there's a lot of knockouts that don't make sense. Before anything another type to the mix, perhaps they should go into fixing that, or would it make the game too complicated? In my ideal situation, we would have, say, water and ice types... but both would utilize water energies. Same with ground and fighting, or grass/bug/poison, or flying/colorless, etc.
