Hmmmmmm...
Ampharos: sub-par, but you'll see at least four of 'em in my trade binder at all times
Exeggutor the first: Hmmm, very interesting. Like the jungle one, but better, and has no weakness to fire, being psychic! Could see a decent amount of play, especially against Kingcenter. You can just load up the energies, and BOOM!
Exeggutor the second: Okay, but weak to fire. Fails to metagame like the Psychic one does.
(just for kicks) Smoochum: Ooooh, clearly the most powerful card in the set

10 energy on a baby? I don't even stick that many to Dark Blastoise. think i do 8 or 9 . But 10 to a 30 hp-er that cannot use gold berry and one flip heads can take it out. Focus band is so out, maybe this'll bring it back..... Love the new victreebel! I'd stick it in my grass deck, but it cannot be select it by Erika's Maids. That's the only thing stopping me there.

I thought the Smoochum was supposed to say for each energy on the defending pokemon? Either way, I like them both!

"Yeah, I can see it now. Turbo Smoochum/E Venusaur decks. Sooo smoochum can have a total of 4 energy cards by turn 2."
The problem with that logic, is of course that it's going to take you at least 3 turns to evolve your bulbasaur into a harvest bounty Venusaur. Playing smoochum in your deck at all is really not a good choice if you ask me - becasue any decent player is going to take them out immediatly. I don't think it's ever smart to have that many weak (low hp) pokemon in your deck, unless you're going for speed. But smoochum takes far too long to build up for it be a speed strategy card.
Sorry, I don't see it as being broken at all.

Yeah, all Babies I've ever used got 1, AT MOST 2 turns of use before the opponent got a heads and wiped them off the game field. This new Smoochum might be very widely played card in the future, because it can do so much damage, and is invicible literally half the time!

Aquapolis Smoochum reminds me of Team Rocket's Meowth. Both had flaws but the ever present coin flipping madness that we've all enjoyed with Genesis Sneasel. The fact that it costs a Psychic Energy to use the attack is one limitation. Secondly, it flips for each energy attached so with a total of four energies on it, you'd probably only manage twenty to thirty damage, if any. All it takes is one heads for the opponent to KO this thirty hit point baby. Retreating also costs an energy. Its a waste of space because it requires energies, which is limited one per turn, rather than Pokemon like Sneasel and Team Rocket's Meowth did. Additionally, wouldnt you rather be powering up something that remains a constant attack? This card is overrated in my opinion. -Phil [ January 04, 2003, 01:21 PM: Message edited by: GymLeaderPhil ]

I made a deck of all "cute" pokemon ... it sucked royaly, but it sure is funny to see the look on people's faces when I have on my bench a Smoochum, Teddirusa, and Caterpie!

sorry to spoil the smoochum sarcasm, but there isn't any danger that the translation is wrong is there?
i mean, it would still only be sub-par if you flipped for the amount of energy on the DEFENDING pokemon....
at least on the defending pokemon we MIGHT use it...

Pokemon Breeder allows Bulbasaur to evolve to Venusaur on theat plaers second turn. Breeder was re-released in LC so it is Modified legal. [ January 05, 2003, 08:43 PM: Message edited by: Otaku ]

Someone in one of the threads posted the URL to the wizards checklist for Aquapolis. I was confused by a few entries, and wondered if someone could help untangle me.
1. The first thing on the list was a set of cards lwhose card number appears to be H1-H32. These appear to be the holo form of cards 1-32, all of which are labeled as rare. Is this a correct interpretation of the situation?
2. There are several cards listed as a and b - Golduck 50a and 50b for instance. What does that mean - two card 50s, but with different pictures or something?
3. There are 3 cards, at the end of the list - cards 148-150, which are listed as holo. Are there supposed to be superrares?

It is.

The pictures are the same. The dot coding is different. They do different things in the reader.
3. There are 3 cards, at the end of the list - cards 148-150, which are listed as holo. Are there supposed to be superrares?
Well two out of three answers are not bad.

Okay, will there be some place where one can read up on what the data on these twin eReader compatible cards do?
