I'm assuming the cards with restriction numbers in the Japanese tournaments are the ones they don't want WOTC to use. I'm not sure of the current Japanese list though. Maybe someone else can help.

That means Team Rocket's Meowth is still in the running. It only became popular after two Neo sets had been released (Metal Energy from Neo Genesis and Unown N in Neo Discovery), and thus was not used for a long, long time.

I am finally putting my betting chips down. I say it's Team Rocket's Meowth.

Two cards I hate are the Neo Genesis Cleffa and Pokémon Breeder. I use the latter only in emergencies and the former only in traveling emergencies.

Ho hum...true, it's a new card, but good old cards > new bad cards. [Bored]

Anyway I, like Sauron, am holding to the possibility that due to its placement on advertisements for BattleZone, base set Blastoise could be making a comeback. [Big Grin]

Unlikely, unless WotC engineered some buzz-for-'toise exchange with TPC. Quite frankly I think Blastoise may have been chosen for color-contrast reasons.

Yoshi: The way I see it, it's like this:

There are posters with Electabuzz (recently released), Hitmonchan (hinted at being released - rather bluntly, I might add), and Blastoise. It follows that Blastoise would be next, no?

Plus, like you said, this makes a sort of Rock-Paper-Scissors trio. Electabuzz keeps Blastoise in check, Hitmonchan reigns in Electabuzz a bit, and since Fighting isn't really a superstrong color to begin with, I doubt that anything will be done to cover Hitmonchan. But promo Scyther is still out there, which offers a bit of protection versus Chan...that is, if any is needed.

So.../raises glass of Pepsi...here's to hoping. [Big Grin]

I'm bored, so I'll make a list of some possible reprints:

Hitmonchan: could be an interesting addition to MMF. Maybe a bbp could make Machamp decks more populer [Smile]

Kangaskhan: Would be a great card to splash into any deck. A fat old guy who draws AND stalls? you know him.

Mr. Mime: the format could be odd with him around. He'd counter dark g8r completely, but couldn't do squat to Kingdra and Tyrogue.

Jungle Scyther: Truly the one who could turn the tide of MMF, as he is THE splashable card for Amphy that totally murders tyrogue [Big Grin]
(and counters dar g8r, might I add).

Lapras: While I do despise Kingdra and Dark G8R for their dominance, water lacks a good bbp (who really wants to use mantine, anyway?!).

Here Comes Team Rocket!: While it would do NOTHING to the format, I'd still love the return of a classic. Flip over everyone's prizes?! Now THAT is broken [Wink]

Rocket's Sneak Attack: Ahhh, a return of duress could really help out the plume/murkrow decks. maybe if it were common, like it's Mtg counterpart...

Rocket's Hitmonchan: A lot like hitmonchan, only not as fast, and stalls. Wouldn't do much at all to the format.

Rocket's Scyther: Could possibly alter the way g8r is played, but fails to splash like jungle scyther.

Rocket's Mewtwo: This guy would truly be cool! Wouldn't it be fun to play him in your Dark Gengar deck? Seriously, psychic was only big when the game was first released (Alakazam or mullimew), but not as big as the great charizard deck! [ROFL]

I think Hitmonchan would be a great addition, If we had some big fighting pokemon they would be able to do semi-well against water, and encourage people to start playing psychic again, Ive been trying to put together something involving Expedition alakazam and maybe porygon two or sumething.

Ok guys... now take a look at the BZ promotional flyer in the Holiday kit (you may look at this here - thanks to Pokémon Zeo!)....

There is a little cute background with some energy symbols...

Upper part: LIghtning (and 1st season was Lightning, with Buzz promo);

Central part: Dark (and, look, the next winner card it's Rocket's Sneasel-dark!)

Third part: Fighting

So the 3rd promo will be fighting... Maybe an Hitmonchan?

Take now a look at all the best fighting Pokémon in the older sets.. 95% the 3rd promo will be there!!!
