From the Pokemon Organized Play website:

Banette is receiving errata for its first attack, Ghost Head. Ghost Head can’t cause Banette to Knock Out itself…the attack has to leave Banette with at least 10 HP.

Banette— Secret Wonders, #23
Ghost Head attack
Put as many damage counters as you like on Banette. (You can’t Knock Out Banette.) Put that many damage counters on the Defending Pokémon.

Electrode is receiving errata for the card to reflect that its Poké-Power can trigger when any attack Knocks Out Electrode, not just during its owner’s turn.

Electrode— Secret Wonders, #26
Energy Shift Poké-Power
If Electrode would be Knocked Out by damage from an attack, you may use this power. Electrode isn’t discarded. Instead, attach it as an Energy card to 1 of your Pokémon. While attached, this card is a Special Energy card and provides every type of Energy but provides only 1 Energy at a time. (Has no effect other than providing Energy.)

The errata for both cards goes into effect immediately.

Note that the Rules Team had already published the ruling change for Electrode in the Compendium EX. This makes it an errata.

Haven't heard about Electrode since seeing that. Should make it a nice, playable pokémon for when GE comes out.

BTW why is the title "Banette..." and not "Banette and Electrode...."?

its not useless its just capped now is all its still playable Id rather hit em for 70 and let them put the banette in the discard for me or now its time to tech the jolt * and trode is BUNK anyway has no staying power and the power can be gotten around

Because we already released the ruling on Electrode, so it's not news to PokeGymmers.

yeay electrode got better

*Goes online to netdeck and removing electrode from bidding... I mean... look over there!*

I think it's safe to assume they have those already. 2200+ unique cards from RS-on will attest to that.

However, it's probably also safe to declare Secret Wonders a disaster in that department. That's 4 mistranslations now. What's the dealio?

How is Banette that much worse?
I understand that sometimes that 10 extra damage or self ko to get Banette in the discard may be necessary, but in all reality I almost never see Banette used in either of those ways. People, I think, prefer to do 70 rather than ko themselves.

Banette is still great. I'd rather do 70 and no KO myself then do 80 and KO myself, then your next Banette/whatever you send up will get hit full-on.

Yeah, you guys are right -- the Banette isn't too horrible still. But I liked the idea that I could place that extra damage counter if I needed to. Eight damage counters out of nowhere is pretty cool, especially when it doesn't even cost any energy. I think I'm just upset that a whole string of cards have been getting erratas recently (not to mention the fact that many of those cards went for some time without the errata). This is pretty discouraging for people who don't normally go online and check to see how they can play a certain card in their deck.

Well, I just hope they don't make an errata for Blissey so that it is each Energy Card attached to him, instead of Energy. But the errata for Banettee is fine. *thinks about making T2 Banette for the first time*

Wow, there go half my wins with Bane -.-
That really sucks. Didn't electrode already have that errta a while ago? Oh well, nothing wrong with his new addition. But...now Bane needs unown E just to do 80 >.> Well, thanks for letting us know.

How could they miss this?
How could the words "You can’t Knock Out Banette" be translated to "You can't put more than Banette's remaining HP"? I'd think it'd be pretty straighforward and simple, to translate the words "You can't knock out Banette" to "You can't knock out Banette".
Well, I'm happy they found out the error before States and we still have less errata than Yugioh.:thumb:

And I'm curious as to how they find this stuff out. Do English-speaking players visit Japan, play the card the wrong way, and end up sending an e-mail to POP after one of the natives tells them they've been playing it wrong?
