Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Regional Championships 2008, Parsippany NJ 4/12/2008

I'll bring the Wii if there is a guaranteed TV there. I'm just not sure if there will be a TV so I don't want to bring the Wii just to get disappointed when there isn't one there.

On top of that is there really going to be time for a Smash Bros. Tournament.

Meh, a SSBB torney might not work. I would participate, but what happens if people top cut. They can't really Brawl. I don't see a big chance, but I'll join if there is one. 5 more days!

I don't really think Banette will be big at Regionals. Empoleon might see one or two decks, there is no Banette at ALL in Juniors, G&G will probably win.

thats right there is no bannete in juniors so G&G will win:thumb:

2nd DE States In Juniors

I expect that GG will win atleast 2 of the 3 age groups. I am positive that one of those will be Masters.

Since "GG" has been out. I have been to 13 Tournaments. Out of those 13 GG has won 11 of them. The 2 that didnt win, GG was the 2nd Place Finisher. I am gonna be playing GG/Plox Varient. I need to do well and that deck gives me the best overall chance to make it to the T16. I agree, I expect no Banette at regionals, just doesnt seem like a good choice.

Drew

I might be able to plan out the tournament for SSBB, if we have time for one, guys.
It will start after the first break is announced, and it will play on during the Breaks and the break after Top Cut has been announced. Lets try to Limit it to 16 Players, 2 Minutes per Brawl. Lets make it even more challenging, and by that, i mean no unlockable players could be played so if there is someone who hasn't played with all the characters yet knows a little better of what they are facing. Perhaps we should set a fee and prize? PM me or post here for more suggestions.

Limit should be 32, tons of people will want to play. I don't like fee, but it is a good idea with no unlockable character. Maybe we could have two torneys? And Drew, I defenitly agree with you. G&G will be the play.

What about Banette/Mortar or Mismagius/Gorebyss rogue decks

Yeah, but most people will be playing G&G. I do think though there will be a lot of Mag. I say

60% G&G
3o% Mag
5% Rogue
5% n00b

As, I expect it to be a bit different. I think there will be more Rogue/Noob and less Magmortar, atleast for Masters.

Think about this. At NJ there were what 4 Magmortar for about 41 players or so.

In DE, there were about 1-2 Magmortar for about 30 players.

In NY, I heard there were a few more, but not enough that it would add anywhere close to 30% total. If NY was at lets say 40% Magmortar, the other players that are coming from different area will effect Regionals. I doubt that Magmortar is gonna see play when out of the 4 T4's for the states that players will be coming from, (that is 16 decks for Masters). It broke down the following way - 11 GG, 3 Magmortar and 2 Banette. That is telling me that if you want to win, Play GG. GG took 69% of the T4 Decks in our area. How can anyone argue that GG is NOT the play.

JMO,
Drew

Then I guess 10-20 % Mag for Masters. For Jrs. I say

50% G&G
40% N00b
10% Rogue

Basically no comp. Anyone know where the Fouchet's are going?

A Magmortar deck WON NY States, Drew. I believe two Magmortar decks were in top 4.

Yeh, your right, 2 were in T4. However, out of the 4 states I took the T4, which were NY, NJ, DE, PA from which I think our regional will have players from.

GG got 11 of the 16 positions
Magmortar got 3 of the 16
Banette got 2 of the 16.

GG won 2 of the States and Swept the T4 of PA. They almost did the same in NJ, however Darrell got 4th and did the same in NY. Other than that, while Brian won NY, he did it with an uncoventional Magmortar list, that also included Banette. We can also agree that most area's play Magmortar with either Typhlosion or Blaziken, our are does not. They play it straight wtih Claydol, which in our area with so many GG, might be a better choice because you are able to get thru your deck quicker. However, when 11/16 of the decks are GG, you have to think about.

Josef, other than Tim who lost in T8 the only 3 Magmortar in your Cut. That means, that 5 were not. I believe that atleast 4 maybe 5 were GG. That still means that GG is good. Which is what I am trying to say. While you may want to win, make the top cut is important. Playing GG will most likely give you the best shot to make T16.

JMO,
Drew

I was careful with my words to make sure I didn't say it was THE Magmortar!

RSDFBTRANERAOTRASRETTATSDTWBWR is taking it!

Heh, well that is true, which means that I would assume you would agree that a good player playing GG will most likely make top cut. I still beleive that playing Magmortar currently is a dangerous play in our area with all the counters and other stuff running around. As for that, I think I figure out the name for my deck. Thanks Josef, for the idea.
