I don't think anyone is saying that the sky is falling, but you can't be telling me that switching back to 2x weakness will not make it harder for judges and tournaments. We'll have to go through the whole speech about how half the cards have + weaknesses and half the cards have x2 weakness again, only the other way around.

Also, I doubt anyone can argue that 2x weakness required more strategy. Riolu OHKO'ing Castforms and Skitty at Worlds to win games in the Grinder is a testament to that.

I look forward to any new things in this game that I love, but I can not like some new things too.

How would such a speech be required, when you can just see what weakness the card has printed and do the math? I don't see how it could cause problems for judges at tournaments...

All of these changes are great, every time new mechanics are introduced people whine and everything works out fine. IMO TPCi has earned the benefit of the doubt in terms of introducing new mechanics to make a game work after 6 succesful years running the TCG, don't you think?

For G8Rfin (my name for Feraligatr/Lumineon) is Bronzong cycler good? That way you could increase damage every turn.

Because everyone totally forgot the speech when LV.X Pokemon were printed with x2 weakness.

There is absolutely nothing overly complicated about weaknesses.

PCL does it again. I am amazed! I love the artwork on the Lugia LEGEND. Typhlosion and Feraligatr are awesome but the Meganium... I think I'd rather run SF Sceptile then Meganium. I can't help but wonder why Lugia is a :water: type when we all know it's :psychic::colorless.

One other thing I'd like to point out is the holographic treatment the Johto Starters got. Since they have such good powers I wonder if they're the "great" pokemon mentioned earlier. Note that the artwork for them are just head shots and not the ususal full body pics. And they're staring at us with that "bring it on" look.

I do like the Shizurow illustrations for the past Level X's better, though... But Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr's illustrations are nice, nevertheless. I also wonder about the type of Lugia as he can have advantage over Ho-oh if they face each other (not that Weakness would really matter with Lugia's attack)... But I'm more inclined to think that Ho-oh and Lugia are on even terms and that their types should not affect each other in any way (either weakness or resistance).

I actually think the Lugia and Ho-Oh art is some of the best we've ever seen, but maybe it's just me.
i agree. and the wallpaper is amazing; i'd love to see a raw version, w/o all the 'other' graphics included...:(

The artwork is beautiful on the legends cards. I wonder if they will be creating more than just Lugia and HoOh for this set and what do the other "great" pokemon include?!

As for the starters, if their HP, attacks, powers and ability to come straight from the S1 (like EX) without the 2 prize card bonus... I am thinking these are great already.

The art on Lugia and Ho-Oh is sweet... but to be honest it's really tacky. It looks like some sort of Pokemon fanart drawn by a fat, basement dwelling dungeon master who usually draws dragons and mages.

And... there HAS to be a drawback to the Greater Pokemon.

If not, this game is truly taking a turn for the worst.

R.I.P. Trainers. For the first time in the game's history EVER, there will not be a single card with the term "Trainer" on it.

oh my god, pokemon is turning into yughioh, i guess i am just at the right age. at 14, probably the year that i will be quitting, pokemon will be officially yughioh.

Not only that, M:TG has brought in trap cards. I'm really confused, by all accounts YGO sucked (the gameplay of the TCG, I liked the anime ), is this a free-for-all on their mechanics?:confused::confused:

Anyone else find it interesting that it was Neo Genesis opening the Johto region that introduces the W&R swirl and now with this set "reopening" the Johto region that W&R swirl is removed.

hum... x2 weakness for everything? That'll give ex series cards a chance against these if played together in a ex-on challenge.

Perhaps it wasn't the mechanics that sucked, but instead the gameplay failed to properly ckeck and balance the mechanics ultimately resulting in sucky gameplay.
