x2 weakness is awful! Matchups become autowins just because you have the right type.

nooooo sps will just one hit those Non-uuber sprayable powers and make fun of them when they fail to set up, but WOW never guessed they bring back Rain dance well maybe we went into the past o_O

Rain Dance? Seriously? And weakness against the almost never-played Grass type instead of the traditional Lightning? I'm...really really surprised. Still, at least now you have the type-trumping circle.

It looks like the only downside to Great Pokémon is their rarity, they're meant off the bat to be really competitive, highly valued cards, and there's a really no-nonsense approach to that in the Great Pokémon series.

The Legend cards...well, I can appreciate the idea, and can safely say that no other game I know of uses the mechanic, but I just see the nightmare of trying to get a 2-2 set. And at least they're not unplayable. Rosanne's into Lugia LEGEND, Ocean Glow, Retreat/Warp Point/etc to Elemental Blast for 200 damage? Could work. Ho-oh LEGEND of course is just a better Base Set Charizard, and maybe could benefit from Energy Trans much the same way that Charizard did.

I like the change from "Trainer" to "Goods" (probably "Item" here), since all the people and places got taken out of the Trainer group, the Items were really all that was left.

my only problem with the legends is there artwork goes to the edge of the card which if done right will allow you to know where it is in the deck.

If this set is released around February, like previous sets, then this will make States and Regionals very interesting.

I'm Scared!

I can't wait. IMO we are going to see the rise of the old power decks again. I really have missed the days of metanite/rgon/LBS. I had only started playing shortly before those were rotated, so I'm really excited that I'll finally be able to really have some fun with the big stage 2s. :D

The Legends look INCREDIBLE. I'm only saying look. As for playability, who knows yet. They're physically two cards so the drawback is that they take up two deckspaces and you have to get both into your hand before you can play them, and I guess you can only have 2+2 since each "half" is named.

Lugia being Water-type is also noteworthy. Seems like its more based on its role in Pokemon legend rather than actual game type. I can only think of Lugia that this would make a difference for though. Or maybe Lugia is changing to part-Water type in the new games?

Two cards in one I guess they will take up quite a lot of space on the table, could be a bit of a hassle.

Are we sure "Great Pokemon" even exist? Is that not just a new Holo treatment? I'm thinking maybe whoever translated it might have taken it out of context and that it was just saying they're "Great" Pokemon, rather than saying its any kind of specific mechanic. Is there any extra text/marking on the cards that anyone can make out? I have poor eyesight put all I can make out is the Holo treatment.

Rosanne's into Lugia LEGEND
As far as I can make out they aren't considered Basics.

That I'll ever agre with you so perfectly xD
Yeah looking forward to see DPcrap dying and pokemon hopefully turning into a fun game again :)
I doubt Iw ould have sticked around for another yeah of dp crap

This is bad for the game!! Yugioh is dead, why bring failed mechanics from that game into Pokemon. the lost zone was one thing but Morphing two monsters into a new one is not a step in the right direction. Please dont mess up Pokemon bu turning it into annother version of Yugioh or Magic. I mean whats next energy cards that you play on the field and all your pokemon in play access it for attacks.

I should've quoted this instead. Energy cards that are an actual resource would instantly make Pokémon the best thing EVAR and also too complicated for 99% of its target audience. So no need to worry

A Grass type deck won the 2009 Pokemon TCG World Championships, and one that can target Ferliagtr wherevere it is resting, but mainly due to the win I'm pretty sure Beedrill will be seeing ALOT of play.

New Heart Gold Soul Silver Cards Amazing!!!

So if you haven't seen the new cards, you need to find them asap because they are going to revolutionize the game all over again!! Rain Dance is back, and the Legends Pokemon are INCREDIBLE!!!!!

Magic the Gathering has used that mechanic for a few cards, one of which is in Unglued. They are rare, but other card games do use them, but not often. They look like they would be coller to collect than to actually play with, but Lugia does looks like it could be a decent card.

I thought Magic: The Gathering used the idea of split cards, which were essentially two spells on one physical card. I didn't know they used multiple cards for a single spell. And Yoshi, the first cards I've seen of the Bleach TCG are the ones you posted.

And yeah, apparently the Legends have their own Pokémon type, I didn't look close enough. My mistake.

I have 0 idea why they changed everything over to x2 weakness.
That's exactly my view on why they changed it from double damage.

That Lugia Legend has already convinced me to buy a whole lot of booster packs, just to get it. Does anybody know what that box in the pictures on the official site is?

I think the artwork for this set looks fantastic. I LOVE the Legend card images (Do you honestly think we've ever seen an image like that before? It looks so intense), and even the close up head-shots of the "Great" pokemon look pretty neat too (Angry Meganium is angry!)

I'm not sure how Rain Dance is gonna effect this format. I know it will still be nasty as get out, but realize we're not sitting in a Professor Oak/Bill environment, and lockdown still exists.

I called Gatr being awesome again though.

They did for some sets. The whole deal with the splits is you could only play one of the two casts on the cards, not both. For example, there was a card called Hit//Miss (Hit or Miss) and you could pay the mana cost of the Hit spell, or the Miss spell. I think there was only 4-5 sets that utilised these.
