Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

'Kay Good Luck.. (Kyogre/Groudon Legend)

About rainbow: don't forget that it counts as your energy attachment for the turn. So no dce or warp for that turn. I would only run it if ur playing machamp

And yea legend box is sorta crappy card it's way too luck based.

I've made a KGL deck and it runs amazing. has a combo with legend box and Dialga Pl. Use Dialga's Reverse time to put KGL pieces on top of deck with an energy and use legend box to get it out.

The decklist seems like it needs chatot g to rearrange the top of their deck, but I am not a critic

Ha! I can't tell if this is a joke. You are discarding FIVE cards..

Edit: Wow, quadruple ninja'd..

I don't get the explanation RE: Vileplume...... You don't run the Stage 1! How in the world do you set up Gat'r??!??!?

EDIT: Okay I read that more carefully now. You don't need to set up Gat'r. Okay cool.
But here is my real issue.. With only 1 Warp Energy and 1 Warp Point, I honestly do not see you pulling off the Warp + Seeker trick more than once per game and that's IF you are lucky. I get Twins, cause you may be down on Prizes the whole game. but even then, you search out a Warp Energy/Point, and a SSU and risk the flip?? You can't Seeker the same turn. I dunno.. I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around that part. I mean heck, even Gyarados can't do it all the time and they run CRAZY consistent lines of Warp/Point/Seeker/SSU/Junk etc...

X-1 or 2 (forgot, so sue me) vs Vilegar in testing/tournements...

did any of you even read the match-up? literally 5 or 6 ppl have said that exact same thing. you dont get gatr out. ill say this for the third time again i guess:

set up kgl manually (3 turns dce+2 waters) wait for them to take a prize against sableye (or not it really doesnt matter). if they did kill you then use twins to get a second kgl piece on bench. then lookers urself in and draw 1 card. gengar now hits for 30 damage or 60 if you draw another trainer next turn. it generally takes 3 mills to ko vileplume. so you will have a 4 card hand. in testing 1-2 have been trainers rest can be played. they usually do not ko the active kgl ever cuz u dont keep enough tss in ur hand. while they are trying to kill u just set up the bench one. eventually plume dies, trainers are free to use, easy match up

he did it to me three times in our game if only i didnt take plus power out lols. but all that up theres prety acurate

Warp energy goes back to ur hand each turn after seeker. I also play 3 junk arm so I ca technically have 4 warp point

You sir, made my day, I knew the card had potential, but at the time I tried it Twins wasn't out.
I guess I'll give it another go, I love playing mill decks.

I'm with TheDoctor here... there have been so few viable deckout decks in the long history of the Pokémon TCG, and it's my favorite way to win. I too tried KGL/Feraligatr before Twins came out, and while it was tons of fun to play, it wasn't consistent enough for me to consider it a serious deck.

I'd like to hear how your Lostgar matchup is. Since they won't take prizes, you won't be able to abuse your Twins. Tyranitar would be a good matchup to report on too. Thanks to Darkness Howl, they can also take prizes very slowly, also hampering your Twins abuse.

Great article... I will definitely give this a try!

I agree with a buncha people here. Tried it before Twins, saw an incredibly fun yet maddeningly inconsistent deck that either dominated everything or got dominated easily, depending almost completely on the start. I was a little bit different from everybody else in that I decided on a Sablelock-style strategy where I tried to Cyrus/Judge them into submission early and give me some time to actually get something set up. Twins will probably work better.

I guess I'm just a little bit concerned with the very techy nature of that Trainer engine you're using. That's a LOT of singles, and getting the G8r will be difficult with only 2 ways of evolving him. Have you ever had any problems getting a G8r out when you needed him?

Bullados: nope gatr has never been hard to get out before. 4 twins is insanely consistent so u get what u need. Also for lostgar it depends a LOT on the start. And also what variet they are using, speed or trainer lock. Against trainer lock you usually have time to get a kgl on ur bench. Once kgl gets in your bench you win. Both variants go throu cards fast. Also in testing I found lostgar wasn't really consistent anyways. The hard part is getting both pieces in your hand at once without them lost zoning one. Smeargle, azelf, bebes, lux, and comm all help

Elekid I’ve tested your build. It’s won most of the test games where I’ve played it … but I do feel that your list has major weakness based on build design. It’s very dependant on both getting an early sableye and on your opponent taking the first prize.

With only 2 collectors getting the early sableye isn’t a given if you don’t start with it or draw it early. I think that I’ve had at least 2 games out of about 10 where getting Sableye was a bit of a problem. In one of them after the first Twins I was fine, but in the other one the lack of Sableye, Twins, or Collector resulted in a loss. In related, while it hasn’t been huge yet, Sableye is somewhat vulnerable to the early Judge/Looker’s/Giratina.

Also, while I was able to charge up KGL manually pretty easily when needed (vs. trainer lock, candy prized, etc.), the deck’s consistency depended a LOT on Twins. That’s fine when they take the first prized (again which happened most of the time). But almost by accident during one game the opponent sacrificed a Spiritomb to set up and thus gave KGL the first prize. It utterly wrecked your KGL. Being unable to use Twins until they setup completely and took two prizes pretty much lost that game.

Honestly these are the strategies I would try to use against the deck now. I would wait as long as possible to take that first prize, especially if you were having trouble setting up. I would also take strong advantage of any hand disruption I had to make you waste your precious few supporters.

This is just MHO, but your particular build is high risk / high reward. It will work most of the time and I wouldn’t expect most people to be able to react correctly against you the first time they played it. However the build itself exposes you to several loss conditions that you otherwise might avoid. I think that you did a very good and creative job with your KGL. I’m not surprised you got top in a state with it. I wouldn’t have built it this way myself, but it really does work most of the time. Great article and thank you for taking the time to write it and share your very creative idea with the community at large.

Another thing, is that if they just don't do anything, you can use bebe's/commun to get set up, and just take advantage of it/
