I appreciate hearing everyone's concerns for what happened.

I am Aydan Aires and I'll answer whatever questions you have. I understand I've hurt a lot of feelings and feel guilty for what happened.

Proof you are really him? Not saying I don't beleive you, but this would also be the perfect time for a troll to come into the thread and mess with everyone

I hope this doesnt mean the end of the Professor Cup. This is an event TPCi puts on for Professors that work hard and give back to the game. They don't owe the Professors an event, they do it as an extra bouns. It just takes one to ruin it for all.

The article was sent to us shortly after it was posted.
Needless to say this should not have been possible as his name was not on the list, (and that will be addressed as well) but I want to be clear that in my opinion the blame for this issue is absolutely at the feet of the person who lied to our staff.

Before everyone jumps on this post. be carful on beleiving this is really him unless there is proof....

Yeah, I'm him. and a way to prove it... hmm. Im not sure there is a way since everyone has seen the article. But, I can answer your questions.

Oh wait! There is a way to prove it. I'm Rush17 on Pokebeach also. And I've had forums where I attempt to sell the trophy recently.

Hope you don't miss Pokemon and your league too much... I feel sorry for all the players you have influenced at league and by doing this.

Just proves that not everyone deserves to be a Professor, League Leader or Judge...

I love his excuses for selling the prizes. Family money problems. Who doesn't have them. Kent state being expensive. Is he sure he will even have the money to go if their lawyers get involved.

No, it is not the Staff's fault.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the P!P staff is supposed to guarantee that players follow the rules AND to ensure a fair playing environment for those who DO follow the rules. Unless I'm wrong, that's THEIR JOB. Otherwise there would be no Judge nor Professor system, as Nintendo would merely expect the players to self-regulate.

Sorry, but it's just as much the staff's fault for not ensuring that players are playing by the rules as it is Mr. Aires's fault for breaking those rules. And admitting that they're sorry for letting it happen is called "taking responsibility", which is the least I expect ANY leadership organization to do.

Furthermore, claiming that it's the staff's fault does NOT absolve Mr. Aires for breaking the rules, and I certainly hope that no one assumes as much. That is to say, why should it be that only ONE side can be at fault? Can't BOTH (or three or more) sides be equally at fault?

Works for me.

Can't be too carful these days.

But, yeah. Any questions you guys have, throw them at me... I feel bad for what i did so i'll take messages or if you want to post them here; thats fine.

I'm not an expert on US Law but is there not some issue with an individual entering a competition they were not entitled to and then gaining from this?

I'm sure it would probably be negated by the fact that he was allowed to carry on in the tournament (though obviously that would only be if it could be proved that the organisers knew he was competing when not entitled) but i'm wondering if anyone knew US Law on this?

P.s. I mean actual knowledge not something you made up / heard from a mate / might have seen on a TV show once

I'm a little unclear on how much involvement it takes to become eligible for the professor cup. If you had taken the test and were an official professor, had you done enough over the year (hosting league etc) to have been able to play anyway?

I read a comment on SixPrizes in reply to the article: "Very Team Rocket of you."

Ha -and it's just as comical as on the TV show. Time for this guy to blast off.

I would like to start off by saying, this is a VERY toned down post of what I really think of you. If I were to post my true thoughts of what you are as a human being, I would be breaking the rules of the site, since it's deffinitly above a pg rating.... oh wait, that's right. You wouldn't understand that, you know... following rules and all. :/

[Offensive Paragraph Redacted]

Enjoy your ban, I know I will.

Yes, I've hosted a league for over 8 months now. Had I not been stupid and took the Prof Cup, this wouldnt be a big deal..

Just refrain from communicating please, that should be enough.
I'd really appreciate if the OP (Absoltrainer) or a mod could edit the copy and pasted article out from the first post. I'm ok with snippets of it being reposted, but I'd rather the entire article not be copied and pasted here as it's unique content on 6p. Thanks.
I wouldn't be proud of having such an "unique" content on my website...

Without getting into my deeper thoughts on the player's actions...

Personally, I find it completely absurd to say "OMG I know one of the people he beat! They could've won if not for him!" Yeah, well, they also could have won if they A) Played better, B) Were using better decks, or C) Had better luck, all of which are factors independent from Mr. Aires.

Evidently, he's a better player than most Professors. :< Did he break the rules, and does he deserve punishment? Yes, on both counts. However, I think a few accusations go too far...

He didn't cheat, aside from entering the tournament in the first place. Saying "I could have won if not for...!" should be finished with one fo the reasons I listed above... not his entry into the tournament. Also, if PUSA takes any legal action, they will lose a lot of money and a lot of my respect. My guess is that the case would be thrown out of court. I think even a lifetime ban is a little harsh, as he's clearly sorry for what he did and obviously intended to enter only for the lulz.

My main issue is with him taking the prizes and then selling them. For God's sake, give them back. They aren't yours to win.

EDIT: Also, choke off the personal criticisms and childish insults, guys. I have no doubt that the moderators will let them slide in this instance, given the situation, but I don't think much will get accomplished from calling someone a "redacted" on the PokéGym.

What would you do if the officials gave you a choice whether you can get the lifetime ban and be done with it or they would let you play in tournys again but youd have to live knowing what you did and did not get punished fore it (assuming that you dont get any other punishment)

If i understand correctly, just running a league for a year will not earn enough points to enter the prof cup. Can someone please confirm the number of points needed and how these could be gained?

I haven't done it, but I know from looking it up/others I know who have played in it, that it takes a LOT of work.

Don't kid your self. He hasn't done squat.
