riiiiiiiiight, blame the event staff for this tool's bogus entry into the cup....figured that was going to happen sometime in the thread...=/ =/ =/

WRONG. dude made his own decision to try and get in though he didn't qualify. next are you going to blame stores for shoplifters, since they have all teh shiniez on display? =/ =/

It's both the staff's fault for letting him in without checking and the player's fault for not admitting this during the event.

I'd really appreciate if the OP (Absoltrainer) or a mod could edit the copy and pasted article out from the first post. I'm ok with snippets of it being reposted, but I'd rather the entire article not be copied and pasted here as it's unique content on 6p. Thanks.

No problem. i apologize, didn't know. I left the beginning in, but in order to read the full article, you have to go the 6P, is that ok?

Would it be helpful if this was posted on the official Pokemon Forums?

At this point, the cat is already out of the bag. Editing out the first post will do you, your site, or the players in question any good, as the first post has already been reported and copied to various locations prosperity sake.

Not saying that you or your site is to blame, but the damage has been done...

Reading this all again; the guy snitches on himself, names names, and posts a link to the trophy that he wants to sell on eBay. Hmm....not sure if troll'd...but maybe.

This guy did something really really stupid.

you think they haven't read the original article already? =/

I was just wondering if it would help to discuss in a little more private setting with the higher ups. (Well at least it seems to be to me.)

What, that is low. I know the person that he beat in Top4. She could of had a chance to make Top 2 if it wasnt for this guy. She is going to be mad. Hope Pokemon goes after this guy with more then just a lifetime ban.

I am pretty sure the higher ups are having a wonderful, private discussion about this issue right now.

Mmkay, I was just saying, since I don't have the privilege to post it in the proper forum. Thanks though for the input.

the long quote of the article in the OP was edited by me to only contain the pertinent parts regarding his deception...the tourney report was removed.

The article pisses me off.

The comments made on the article make me want to sledgehammer a car.

There are a LOT of ppl on that thread that I think should be getting some face time with some powerful people.

I also re-added the "See Six Prizes Link for full article" since the content does still belong to 6P

Wow totally unfair... My uncle was in the same position as this dude but he didn't play in the prof cup
Posted with Mobile style...

He did really do anything that smart, he just wasn't checked out enough. He was half expecting they wouldn't let him in. I guess they won't be taking people on trust any more, which is probably the saddest thing about the whole business.

I'm not calling for him to be lynched. I'm sure P!P will deal with it in an appropriate way.

I sure am.
VOTE: Aydan Aires

All kidding aside, this is really not a cool thing to do, i think sd pokemom really hit it on the head.
The worst part was he didn't give the prizes back or anything, he sold them :/

Wow.

I'm just as surprised that no one caught him at all during the X number of rounds involved in that tournament. One round, maybe. Two rounds, there's an outside chance. But... all the way until the end? Someone REALLY dropped the ball there, and thus this issue is NOT just about Mr. Aydan Aires, but of those in the Professor Program who let it happen. As such, the fault of this lies on both sides... maybe even more so on the judges/etc of the Professor Program if this Mr. Aires was well-known by the TCG community both in general AND as a non-Professor, seeing as it was an article writer for Six Prizes and not some random schmuck.

As such, I hope that the powers-that-be in the Professor Program not only ban him, but ALSO publically reprimand those in the Professor Program who let it happen and make an example out of them... in order to salvage the value and the prestige of the Professor Program and as a guarantee that it won't happen again. That is to say, I think it would be a pretty spineless thing for the powers-that-be in the Professor Program to try to draw people's complete attention TOWARDS Mr. Aydan Aires, just to try to hide the fact that someone screwed up (which, in my opinion, would make the Professor Program appear more politically motivated than as something that exists for the good of the GAME and the PLAYERS).

But otherwise, I really don't think this is much of an issue beyond banning Mr. Aydan Aires and publicly reprimanding those in the Professor Program who let it happened. It's simply a case of someone dropping the ball, and thus frankly affects the INDIVIDUALS within the game and not the game itself. But that's just what I--someone who isn't part of the Professor Program nor is a regular player of the TCG--thinks. :)

I appreciate hearing everyone's concerns for what happened.

I am Aydan Aires and I'll answer whatever questions you have. I understand I've hurt a lot of feelings and feel guilty for what happened.

Why would this guy confess?
probably because he felt the need to boast about just how kewl he and his buddies were, and because he thinks if he 'confesses' OP will go easy on him.

NOT...especially since he's already sold his prizes...=/
