Yep, I'm aware that the reason these prices seem obscene is that they are the MSRP.

If a retailer sold a case for 818$ they'd be making over 330$ in profits

TCIP really seem terrible compared to the Japanese when it comes to naming sets why couldn't they call it something like "Dark Avengers" or "Dark Allegiance ". Even "Dark Sqaudron" would have sounded better.

Besides (as pointed out by several others) the likelihood that TPCi wanted to have "EX" in the title, this set is being released in the U.S.A.

In the U.S.A., we had a grim and gritty phase that... well it never really ended, but got scaled back. Basically in the last 30 years, almost everything with "Dark" in the name has been taken.

Dark Avengers I am pretty sure is a monthly title from Marvel, or was at least a story crossover/mini-series.

Other than Zoroark and Raikou this set doesn't really matter
Although I do look forward to seeing the impact of Groudon EX

^are you kidding! We're getting darkarai ex, empoleon, twist mountain, rare candy reprint, ultra ball random receiver, tornadus ex, and the Durant countering heatmor! How does this set not matter?

Rare Candy is a REPRINT, Heatmor won't be played in anything but durant decks, and Empoleon probably won't see much play while zekrom is legal.
other trainers are good I guess but not confirmed and tornadus EX is just bad

You mention Tornadus EX yet not Raikou EX (I think the best card in set) :frown:.

That Heatmor is my favorite though... Candy will be good to have again, Twist Mountain sadly I think will be a moot point since their aren't any good fossils save Archeops, who has issues with basics dominating the format.

Anyone thinking this set will have no impact really need to take a closer look.

Raikou EX, Heatmor, Ultra Ball, Darkrai EX, Empoleon, Zoroark, Darkness Claw, and Dark Patch will all have a very significant impact on the meta game.

I seriously hope so. I want a Juniper reprint.... It's the one staple I have to look around the whole house for when building a deck....

Dragon Lexicon. Totally calling it. XD

Then again, it could be like the HGSS block. UNleashed, UNdaunted, everyone was speculating UNchained or UNtamed, and they gave us.... Triumphant. Trolltendo.

Am I the only one thinking Entei EX is a pretty great card? With Emboar you can get it up fast and the built-in Afterburner effect will let you build something else very quickly (and then maybe use Shaymin to move all energy to the new guy and SSU/Seeker the damaged Entei EX)

The 3 retreat cost is kind of a slap in the face though.

"Ability: Solar Miracle
As long as this Pokemon is in play, prevent all effects of your opponent’s Pokemon’s attacks done to any of your Pokemon with Energy attached to them."

There is no way this includes damage, right?

I would assume it doesn't include damage or it would say "including damage"

It shouldn't be, otherwise Yanmega will be the only card capable to take down Truth builds.

Think of it as an Unown G (Guard) attached to all of your pokemon in play with energy.
