Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Espeon

Play Espeon. It's two cards that turn a matchup that you'll probably see about two times into an autowin. It doesn't get much better than that. As stated before, Eevee is a pretty good starter too.

I don't think any of you guys have actually played these matchups enough. "Auto win" and "double bye" - seriously? Do you even think enough people will play these decks (good though they may be) to warrant the inclusion?

Turn one Darkrai is scary; turn one Mewtwo is scary. Espeon is not scary because it basically trades the speed and aggression of those early prizes for knockouts later in the game. By spending spots on Espeon or Unown/Seeker, you're crippling your early game, giving me a chance to enjoy a very stable first couple of turns.

You will definitely draw prizes thanks to Espeon, no question...But those are prizes you could have been drawing via actual attacking. Catcher, Kingdra, and Chandelure will all get your Espeon.

If you want to increase your chances of beating Accelgor/Vanilluxe, play more Mewtwo/Darkrai...Play more Tynamo. Basically, just play things that are universally good, but won't get locked.

And I'll be happy for the person that plays VVV and somehow fits all of those into a deck. Acelegor is far from an autowin however, as Cyrus points out.

You realize that mewtwo darkrai don't one hi unless stacked with energy but that's only for mewtwo and then vanilluxe takes two prizes

Re-read what he said. You do realize that T1 Darkrai or Mewtwo is about the worst thing that can happen to VVV, right? Getting 3 OHKO's on Big Cones with Mewtwo is more than achievable, especially in Eels.

Space isn't that tight in everything. I have an open two spots in my Zeel I can change and 3 cards in Darkrai. Easy Espeon right there.

I think espeon should be included in most decks, as already stated it DOESN'T hurt your consistency that much. Also i can say as a person that has plyaed VVV an espeon is generally scarier to me than a 3 prize deficit(something i've been able to overcome often in testing b/c i'm running the bellossom and slippery soles, but if they're OHKOing Big Cones that is scarier than an espeon, not that i want to see either one of those things) also the downside to espeon is that it doesn't give you an autowin v. Accelgor(generally) or the Mew/Vanilluxe/Swanna(or Unfezant but Swanna is better) decks b/c they can fit in Seeker+Catcher and OHKO Espeon b/c of weakness. I support the card atm but if i don't see too much status decks i will take it out

the turn one is also really rough for VVV too, but i have been able to pull off a couple wins w/ it b/c i've flipped good on babies :p

IDK how you have room for two cards in zeel.... Let alone 3 in dakrai.
Should be playing something that helps against other deck too.. I don't think many people will be running status but w/e..
