HMMMM,
Can't use a die to decide who goes first, but use a die to decide who makes top 8 or 16 or whatever.
Makes no sense to me.
I've got lots to say about this but the first thing that comes to mind is who is going to replace my 60.00 Charizard EX when the the person sitting across from me flips their fifty cent piece (or ... forbid, silver dollar) and it lands on edge smack dab in the middle of the holographic picture and ruins the card? Who is the ultimate authority that can prove that a die is NOT truly randomized and that a coin is?
I am all for using damage counters as I do not like using dice for that purpose. It is not only personal preference, but I have had too many instances where the dice turn during retreat. I agree with that.
However, many of you know my daughter, and she is autistic. It is nearly impossible for her to flip a coin. Many other children are incapable of flipping. For this reason, I believe that at least the 10 and under be allowed to use the dice, and in some cases, the 11 to 14.
Tis truly is a sad day for Pokemon, If this is going to be the rule, though, then everyone needs to use the same coin, and they need to be handed out by the judges after deck checks. This way, there is one official agreed upon coin, and all competitors are using it.
