Uh-huh, and I've heard from this guy that knows everything that they're canceling Top Cut at Regionals, getting rid of Cities overall, moving all events to weekdays, and banning The Top Cut for intruding on TPCi's rights.

It's on the internet, it MUST be true....

You just posted on the internet, did you not?

I've heard the same thing from 2 PTOs.

I'm a little irritated that it's 10 days before Autumn BRs begin and there aren't complete details on the 12-13 season yet. I know this is nothing new, that information for this game is often announced at the last minute, but it still drives me crazy.

Thanks ok. we didn't get the point system information last year till, what was it again. O-yeah, 2-3 days before BR started ;)

It's still irritating, though. I might not have spent $100+ on a deck that will cost $40 after BRs if I'd known in advance whether there were CP worth chasing or not.

We will probably get it September 1st, the day the new season AND BRs start.

But...that's the way TCPi likes it...

Also Bullados won't be able to record top cut videos, I'm sad about this.

Even more important...what will The Top Cut call themselves during BR's?

How hard is it to really run a trading card game?

This is absolutely RIDICULOUS that we have to wait this long for information that is, essentially, going to define the entire season. In any industry, film, television, music, writing, this company would be a complete embarrassment. Just because your fan base is a bunch of overweight nerds, doesn't mean you have to completely disregard them.

Why isn't this stuff decided way in advance? Why isn't this information released MONTHS ago?

Pokemon execs too busy taking vacations?

A rather insensitive comment for both Kayle and TPCi. Hope that makes yo momma proud that you injured at least 2 people with one thrown stone.

It's not TPCi's fault that secondary market prices are what they are, nor Kayle's that decisions are made that affect those prices that are out of Kayle's control. Implying that TPCi has an ulterior motive to hurt players is ridiculous and demeaning to all of us - kinda stupid sounding to someone who has a brain.... but then again, I suppose I've had my fair share of stupid comments at one time or another. So hey ... go right ahead. :thumb:

This post shows a seriously lack of understanding. Planning ahead is always a good thing, of course, but the final event of the inaugural Championship Point season finished mere weeks ago, and P!P wants to make sure that the invite structure for next year is as fair as possible given all data. They couldn't possibly have done this months ago, they didn't have all the relevant information. They didn't even know who got invites at that point!

As for "how hard is it to really run a trade card game," the answer is very. Especially when it involves coordinating events everywhere on the globe. Is that an excuse? Of course not. My guess is the folks at P!P are way understaffed relative to what they have to accomplish though (which is again, not an excuse, just a guess as to why there tend to be delays).

This post shows a serious lack of understanding. P!P wants to make sure that the invite structure for next year is as fair as possible, and the players really appreciate their effort. However, the final event of the inaugural Championship Point season finished over 2 weeks ago. They could easily have done the analysis after Nationals, and plugged in the Worlds data a day after Worlds finished. They had all the reasonable information 2 weeks ago, and could have sent the new structure for approval to Japan a couple days after Worlds finished. (It could also be that Japan is slow to respond about approving the invite structure, in which case it's the lack of expedient decision-making on the Japanese side that's at fault.)

I work for a company that turns over analysis on millions of data points for large financial institutions literally in a day. If deciding next year's invite structure was given higher priority, it could be announced before September 1.

Personally, I really don't care when the invite structure is announced. What makes it frustrating for me is the lack of communication from TPCi with the players. While there has been announcement about the Top X structure at Worlds, that not really what the players care about right now. We care about knowing whether there will be CPs at stake for Battle Roads. Either tell us the answer to our question, or tell us when the announcement will be made. Keeping players in the dark about the timetable for decisions/announcements is immensely frustrating.
