Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Best player not to qualify...even though it is not "official" yet...

Juniors it would probably have to go to ummm...Parker? Yeah.

Seniors I'd like to say Moza, James, and Cameron H. all missed out despite well deserving it. However, I know two of them are going to the grinder, so best of luck guys. :)

Masters? There are too many great players and people who missed out this year. However, the two that stand out are Pooka and Tom Dolezal. I have the greatest amount of respect for these guys' attitudes and skill, and are, more or less, "victims of the system." Those are only two people, but I could list off about twenty-thirty others. Like Keith said below me, my #1 testing partner missed out on an invite simply because of location, playing in only seven tournaments all season...and winning four!

wow, on another thread you were trying to make me say it was my fault that he made me a 75 year old

Since you explained that there was no player roster put up, it makes things a bit different, eh? Normally, it is the player's responsibility to verify information. If you aren't given that chance to correct something, then the fault lies elsewhere. Agreed?

Keith

OT In JRs, I'd say either Bill P or PJ Yarborough (if he doesnt get a rankings invite) Both have played very well this year.

Masters: Where to begin...the USA has too many to just say 1, but I think I would nominate Scizor (Chad), have you seen his results this year w/o getting an invite. Location FTL.

100% confidently say James Flint.

He is not only a first class player but a first class person. He has class off and on the table.

James did not just come out of nowhere, I've been seeing him ever since 05-06 Cities- He came and dominated cities with Amphy-Lock. He then won Wisconsin States and got inducted into Team Chicago. He then got better and better at every tournament, starting 6-0 at US Nationals 06, and the #4 Seed at Worlds 06.

Then 06-07 came along- James won 6 CC's I believe, with many of his and friends created decks such as Meganium/Manetric and Turbo-Ttar.

States came- He made 2 2nd's with Destiny. He then won Rockford Regionals with a high class field of competitors.

Around this time James was as high as #1 in NA with his 1900+ rating he achieved during March and kept it 1900+ since then.

Then BR's came- He won some up in MN and won the infamous Niles BR in which he was misplaced by the event coordinator at Pastimes.

Without a gain at the last BR of the year, James was in the top 9 in NA for ratings with a 1971. He went into Nationals with an amazing Shiftry build that he piloted perfectly to start out Nationals at 5-0. He then suffered 4 straight losses which in the end lossed his spot out of the top 12.

James could have sat out and that but that is not James's style, he was willing to take that challenge and fight for every single championship!

James was robbed by a major error on the Pastimes Event Coordinator- not anything to do with Eric the HJ. It was purely that Event Coordinators fault. That also shows how careless Pastimes is and immediate action should be taken.

James- As I have told you in IMs, I will try my best to get you to worlds to play in the LCQ

Worlds Senior grinders- Watch out for James as will myself, because he will blow all out.

And I find it rude of some of you to say, "If (x) doesn't get the trip then (x)."

Masters is a tough call. Steven Silverstro not at Worlds? You've got to be kidding. Tom Dozeal? (Isn't this the first year he didn't make top 4 at Nationals?) And how about Jake Burt? Anybody want to say that he isn't deserving.

it's a hard one for me, so I'll make it easy instead (<I'm so good at this game)one for each age division.

Juniors: Angela W. from WI, she will be one of the best female players ever, you heard it here first. She got her trip taken away on a bad judge call that Lawman could probably fill you in on.

You should not speak if you don't know the facts. Angela played my daughter and Angela was getting signals from her brother who was watching behind my daughter. Even with that cheating going on she still lost the match legit. Incomplete games don't count, check the floor rules if you don't know them. Second, I think it was cowardly of her brother to go up to my daughter when I'm not around and bullying her to go tell a judge that she cheated to win. I didn't know this had happened after the match until a mom that was siitnig next to my daughter informed of this. No sooner after this action , they BOLTED. That was way UNCOOL to bully a 10 year old little girl. He is lucky he left when he did. That being said, let it go.

Juniors would be Angela from Wisconsin and for Seniors it would be James....You don't look a day over 65 to me! :thumb:

I'm not trying to pick on Angela (Alot of Juniors do it), but right there you proved that her brother makes her decks. I have to make my own decks to use at tournaments (except for in Nats my friend helped my deck) and most of the good Juniors have there decks made by older siblings. I really think I derserve more credit for that.
My son makes his own decks at 8 years old and he's done very well at States 2nd and won a Battle Road and he always finishes near the top at prereleases building his deck.
So don't lump everyone together...he works hard building decks and playing them himself against copycat decks.

i vote for james. anyone who is 75 years old and can win that many events without letting alzheimers get in the way deserves the trip!

Wow GUERO Thats Messed Up

Polywag, I agree with you 100% on everything u said...

isnt there anyway that anyone can fix what Pastimes did tho?

U.S. people need to start realizing the World isnt the U.S., Vince change the topic title to Best U.S. player not to qualify... please.

And then after that, Miranda played Tristan (The one who ended up winning) and lost because of added time after the game was done. After all the time was up, the judge added time because he/ she thought that Miranda was stalling:eek:. Miranda does play slow, but she would never stall. She then would've made top 8 and probably top 4. She definately deserved Top 4.

you talk about him bullying a 10 year old girl, and then say he was lucky to leave when he did come on man. The "signals" she was getting were both from her brother and me letting her know sudden death is only 1 prize. Which she nodded and gave a gesture saying she already knew.

Any signal is improper to a player still involved in a match. The judge(s) would have reminded the players of this fact during set up. IF a judge had seen you or her brother gesturing to her for any reason, it could cause a penalty for her and you (if you are a player in said tourney).

Flint took Destiny and beat Flygon with it. That's enough to make me give him the nod.

Does that mean Taylor deserves a nod because she took Metanite and beat Destiny 2 straight at regionals?

I vote James...not only is he a Great player but he is a GREAT ambassador for the game. I would be happy to have him representing us at Worlds. Really nice kid!!!:thumb:

1) Bobby M. is probably getting his trip. He had some bad, bad luck this year and is on the bubble, but I don't expect him to lose 7 points on te point shift (although it is possible).

2) So, I am biased because of being from Florida, but I'd say it's a toss up between Kyle S. and Steven S.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

You know who else is a great player--Miranda C. She did hellagud in her first year in Masters, and I think she suffered from the rough metagame. Anywhere else in the country she's winning a lot of events.
