I am so glad the Arceus cards have the same holo treatment they got in the Japanese set. I'm also grateful that this set has less rares then SV. Gives us a better chance at pulling the cards we actually want, and hopefully trainers will be a bit more common as well. I want those Exper Belts!

And where's Shiny Shinx? I want that too.

I see a great potential in many of the cards in this set.

Like, for example, the Sceptile with the Poke-Body, combine this card with Dawn Stadium and the Sceptile from GE and you have a pokemon that can heal three damage counters each turn and can attack for 120 with 3 Grass Energy.

Or the Golem, which has an attack that does 30 damage for each Fighting energy in your hand that you discard. Combine this with Claydol (or Felicity's Drawing) and a pokemon that can throw energies back into the deck (like Rhyperior Lv. X) and you'll be doing circles around your opponent as you speed through your deck with minimal chances of decking and be able to blast right through their high HP pokemon.

Just some thoughts.

Uh, guys? There ARE sp cards in this set. Just letting you know.

Porygon-Z G? Beedrill G?

And I'm guessing that this isn't the entire set.

I thought beach was holding off until "midnight" of the first prerelease day.
Have they given up on that?

We're still waiting until after the first prereleases.

Sucks to have an NDA sometimes.

They are missing 7 cards (plus or minus the shiny pokemon from AoA), so for the most part, this is the entire set.

Smallest set since Stormfront.

Interesting. Although, I do see a lot more than just 4 playable cards in here. Not that I would use, necessarily, but there's plenty of workable stuff in here if you get creative.

Or even uncreative stuff like Luxray/Expert Belt/Porygon Z G. Whatever floats your boat.

Did you consider SV Sandslash to go with that strategy? Just sayin'.

the only things i like out of this set are charizard, expert belt, toxicroak, probopass, and froslass. everything else doesn't look that fun or amazing...

Checking over the jpn scans on pokebeach, it seems like the missing cards are:

Kabutops - Foil - 4/99
Probopass - Foil - 7/99
Zapdos - Foil - 12/99
Rapidash - Uncommon - 47/99 LINK
Kabuto - Common - 67/99
Arceus Lv.X - Super Rare - 94/99 LINK
Arceus Lv.X - Super Rare - 96/99
Gengar Lv.X - Super Rare - 97/99 LINK

Funny enough, it's the same Rapidash, Arceus Lv.X, and Gengar Lv.X that was previewed.

Right now, there is no sign of the shiny pokemon from AoA.

I personally feel that either sets should be smaller like this one, or we should have less frequent releases but larger sets. As it stands, I'm more partial to getting exactly the same set(s) that Japan gets.

They are not showing pontya that has a pokebody that give it no weakness, Kabuto, and bagon with a pokebody.
Thus, could they be SR?

There have been in my count 4 bad sets in the Pokemon TCG that were sets in Japan. Power Keepers wasn't a set in Japan, but was MUCH better than these set as was Emerald.

In no order this set is in league with Gym Heroes (was decent when it came out, but after Gym Challenge and Neo Genesis the set was really quite awful), Neo Discovery (Tyrogue a common was the best card, that is silly), and SV.

Wow . . . I am so glad I decided to not go to pres this weekend.

I mean, all I like is: Spiritomb, Expert Belt, Bench Shield, Charizard (with the HGSS Ninetales for the obvious combo), 1x Gengar X, 1x Cursegar . . . and that's it. lol.

That's maybe, $70-80 if I buy 12 of the first three, plus enough of the others for one deck. I'll be good after that.
