works great in some decks that need certain cards in discard pile to attk

i give it a 8.5/10

my favorite draw card!(I use it in all my decks)
it draws a very nice amount of cards and you can get cards back like energy so it seems like you never had to discard at all

9.9/10 ( not a perfect card but really good)
 
This card is one of the best draw cards. I wish I had more of them. I would give it a 9.5/10 because it is one of the best cards.
 
Good if you need a Draw card which discards(IE in Blissey), but in most other decks, I would probably give Prof. Oak's Visit the edge over it.

8/10 - Not for every deck, but great in the decks that can use it well.
 
Perfect draw with decks that need energy in the discard, like Blissey or Inferanpe. It's too bad, though. Oak's Visit will probably replace TVR in every deck except for Blissey and Infernape. Oh well.

Still my favorite draw card. 8/10
 
One of the most used draw cards since its introduction in the Dragons set (who remembers Reverse Foil TV Reporter?), TV Reporter is a simple, effective "draw 3, discard 1" card. The discard part is what makes it preferable over other similar cards such as Prof Oak's Visit, as many decks revolve around manipulating cards in the discard to work for them; for example, you play TV Reporter, discard a Fire Energy afterwards, and attack with Blissey. Blissey now does 10 more damage since you can use the effect of her attack to attach the discarded energy to her. Other ideas around this involve Poke-Powers and the like.

Modifed - 9/10 (One of the staple forms of draw, along with Steven's Advice)
Limited - 10/10 (Any draw card is good here, and TV Reporter is one of the best)
Unlimited - 2/10 (There are better options here, like Professor Oak and Bill or something)
 
Personally, I like TVR > Oak's Visit in practically every deck.

Since everyone uses Team Galactic's Wager, I'd rather discard useless crap than place said useless crap in my deck so I can draw it later after being Wagered.

10/10 in Limited
1/10 in Unlimited (There's really NO reason to use this unless everyone in your area runs Vileplume ex, Crobat d, or similar cards. Bill, Erika, Misty's Wrath, Secret Mission, Oak, even Bill's Teleporter are all better draw cards than this)

Draw is essential to almost any deck. This is the second best option for most decks. For some, like Blissey, this is better. Professor Oak's Visit wins in decks that don't like to discard.
 
10/10 in decks that need cards in the discard pile. This thing is the perfect discarder. If you'd perfer your discard pile empty, use Oak's Visit.
 
I think this one is a good card, some decks need to discard something. If you use rare candy in a stage 2 deck you even can discard an pokémon card for it, whit night maintenace it's also good to discard an energy to get it back later. There are lots of attacks/powers/trainers that could get the discarted card back in play/hand/deck so this card is really good, i think that oaks visit is going to be played but sometimes if you really need something then it could be better that you discared it. I have a few decks that i really can't discard anything unless i've used an rare candy, i have lots of other decks with tech that you can easly discard something.

I would give it a 8/10 (no 9 cause not all decks are good whit it)
 
TV Reporter seems to constantly be "bumped" from the top draw card spot by a new comer, only to end up on top again. For example, Steven's Advice nearly replaced it... until players got smart and started watching their Bench size, and/or shifts in game flow resulted in obscenely large hands.

TV Reporter is one of the familiar "Draw 3" Supporters. Bill's Maintenance, Professor Oak's Visit, and several other cards do similar things. Only POV looks to match it for overall usefulness. Bill's Maintenance was POV done wrong (a dead card if its all you have), and the others are either gone from Modified (Juggler) or were really meant to be deck specific (Holon Adventurer). POV lets you send the card you don't want to the bottom of your deck (where our many search cards can, for example, still snag a Pokemon as easily as if it were on top), and even if not several cards shuffle the deck. So TV Reporter is better only if the discard is somehow better. I can think of two reasons why discarding can be better:

1) Combo-related effect: Firestarter Blaziken, for example, wants Energy in the discard to attach to Benched Pokemon in play with said PokePower.

2) You run lots of TecH or other "specific counters: leaving them in the deck is just clutter to draw into again later.

A third kind of Supporter appears to be emerging that may soon rival the "draw three with a negative" cards, the "draw two with a bonus" cards. Team Galactic's Mars still nets you two new cards, plus a shot at the opponent's hand. Random though it is, a little luck or a well thought out deck can capitalize upon it. Island Hermit reveals two Prize cards then lets you draw two. While less draw is less of a chance to get what you want, a well made deck might be better off with these "small" alternatives to a third card drawn. Otherwise there are plenty of "shuffle and then draw" effects, and Pokemon based draw is once again easy thanks to the return of Delcatty with Energy Draw.

In Unlimited, I prefer to run shuffle and draw card Supporters, namely Prof. Oak's Research. The last few times I played Modified, I learned that you can't be as reckless as in the past: the more you discard, the more vulnerable you'll be. Also, given the high utility of cards in Unlimited, cards like POR are often "shuffle your deck and draw five". ;) TV Reporter can still be a pretty solid draw here, but you're probably better off with straight up Bill usage. The original Bill, not the nigh unplayable stuff like Mail from Bill.

In Limited, if you pull it, you run it, as you would with most Supporters but especially draw and search power.

This is the most solid draw card in the game. Blissey variants have made Stevens iffy and Copycat is more situational. This is a card more players should play. I don't know why several players seem to play Island Hermit, or Prof Rowan or Rival or other random draw cards when this is solid card advantage. The discard does not hurt 95% of the time since it's your choice. Some decks over the years have had discards hurt a lot. (One I remember is Rhyperior last year, lots of tech cards you need, no use for discarding energy etc.) But those decks are rare, PLAY THIS CARD PEOPLE. This is the card I would first suggest to any new player, it will always work.
